I resisted signing on another billionaire-led app so it's taken me a while to get here. I had blocked #Musk & carried on Twitter despite unease. But now seeing how he is systematically promoting more far-right leaders is just too much. Looking forward to connecting with old & new friends here.

NEW REPORT: More than half of the companies that donated to Trump's ballroom are facing federal enforcement actions.

Donating millions to kiss up to Trump is nothing compared to the billions these companies have at stake in federal contracts and enforcement decisions.

'We have toppled a political dynasty.' Despite the $22 Million spent by billionaires + vilification from #Trump et al, socialist democrat #Mamdani, committed to social justice, won. Great that hope & love won over fear & hate. Well done NYC! #ZohranMamdani #NewYork #USA

Despite the massive benefits of public research & development investments in the UK (£1 generates £8, see thread), the current Labour govt has done precious little to support HE & research. There've been no major research calls. In the past all govts continued support for R & D. So much self-harm.
Government has published one of those quiet but important documents that might get overlooked as it is not 'newsy'. The headline finding is that £1 of public R&D investment generates £8 in net economic benefits for the UK over the long term

Genocide resumes, reads this weekend's cover of @thecontinent.org, as El Fasher falls to the Rapid Support Forces after a year long siege.

Gruesome images of their killing spree that is estimated to have killed thousands, make the rounds. What Sudanese activists warned would happen is playing out.

Amazing day at the #Triennale di #Milano at the event “The Space of Inequality” where I spoke at the session on socio-environmental & climate inequalities. An impressive exhibition on #Inequalities with exhibits on cities, borders, citizenship microbes etc. A great way to spend #WorldUrbanDay

Sir Keir Starmer has been specifically named in a UN report for complicity in Israel's genocide.

The report states that the UK government played "a key role in military collaboration with Israel... a collective crime... with detailed knowledge and cooperation in the destruction of Gaza." 🧵

This is going to end badly for the govt. There are so many other pressing challenges, yet they are determined to stop protest against Israel & simplistically equate this with anti-semitism. Also why go after people who are against a genocide, especially retired white grannies & grandpas?

This will end badly. The #NobelPeace Committee often gets it very wrong. Remember Henry Kissinger in 1973, Obama in 2009 & Abiy Ahmed in 2019? How can the Nobel peace committee award this prize to an opposition leader who sides with Trump and Netanyahu, and has invited them to invade #Venezuela?
