A kind of Molotov-Ribbentrop pact?

There is also the minor matter of higher interest rates and taxes on labour income

It’s probably what happens when you shovel resources away from people who are likely to be more optimistic about the future to people who are getting used to being at the end of their lives

Looks like UK is finally going to have to choose a side

They’re really going to do it aren’t they
TAPPER: Can you rule out the US is going to take Greenland by force?

MILLER: Greenland should be part of the US. By what right does Denmark assert control over Greenland? The US is the power of NATO

T: So force is on the table?

M: Nobody is gonna fight the US militarily over future of Greenland

I’m not a follower of Lombroso but how can you look at Trump, Vance, Miller and Vought and think that they look like the kind of people you want looking after you

Many of Britain's economic problems are political ones. Its electoral system, media, and centralised government act in ways that constrain growth.

The destruction doesn't make for a photo-op like tearing down the East Wing of the White House or bulldozing the Rose Garden, but it's every bit as bad. Generations of American children learned to spell and count, learned the Preamble to the Constitution, from watching shows produced by the CPB.

The UN Headquarters should have been moved out of the United States years ago, but that effort should be taken seriously and even accelerated in light of renewed US hostility to the UN Charter, international law, and the UN itself.

We’ve allowed ourselves to be dominated by the US because we have weak supranational coordination. Only answer is more integration on FP and defence. Easier said than done with UK out of the EU and other big countries’ lack of military capacity

That kind of thing. Although I’m less and less certain these bases couldn’t be used against us

Tricky given a long history of behind closed doors compromise and reluctance to take open stances on things but that’s not going to work this time

It’s about time Europeans started figuring out what leverage they have over Trump because that’s really obviously the only language he understands

UK probably top of the list if we dare not to elevate Farage
NEW: Sen. Mark Kelly RESPONDS to Pete Hegseth for censuring him, cutting his military pension, threatening to demote his rank, and warning of possible criminal prosecution for telling soldiers to obey their oath.

If only we had some collective structure so we could stand up to him together

The dictator for the me me me generation. The iDictator

The weird thing about Trump’s charismatic leadership is that he is just so obviously only bothered about himself, not as the incarnation of the race or an idea, but literally himself and his capricious needs

Surely the whole point of the Thatcher revolution was that these very people were angry about the tax and regulatory environment!?!
