*sigh* I hate this timeline.

Which is what has happened, as far as I can tell? BF6 didn't have AI slop at launch. Now it does. So Steam should have that on the store page, right? Should be a requirement for developers and publishers to declare this stuff when they patch a game? Right now I just feel ripped off.

Because right now, they are selling Battlefield 6 as if it doesn't have GenAI assets, which it didn't at launch, EA snuck it in via updates. But that still means they are selling it under false pretenses, right? I certainly wouldn't have bought BF6 if I knew about GenAI in it. 2/2

@futterish.fsquared.biz So, I had a thought now that people have found GenAI assets in the Battlefield 6 MTX shop. Steam has a GenAI tag, right? So wouldn't it be Steam's responsibility to actually keep tabs on the stuff they sell and make sure that tag is applied appropriately. 1/

I’m sorry, but it is disgraceful to be an academic who uses this technology to conduct research. It should be prohibited in all of our scholarly institutions, including universities and journals.

This is an incoherent and useless policy. "You can use stolen work for *some* of your novel but not *all* of your novel."
We're simply asking that you be on the side of the actual people you represent, @sfwa.org, the writers.

I continue to stand on 'AI is rotting your brains.'

When I was art director for Into the Motherlands, my artists got prompts from me that were anywhere from 3 lines to 4 paragraphs. All of them met our art needs no issue.
Anyone who supports this is an embarrassment. "Instead of typing it out they'll generate their idea"? Are you insane?

Call yourself whatever you want but you aren't creatives, that's for sure.

If your first game from Santa Ragione was Horses, and you enjoyed that, you should check out their previous game, Saturnalia
the good news is that the media attention and support from an audience has helped Horses do well enough that Santa Ragione has been able to pay all its owed royalties and loans. so it's not in debt.

the bad news is it's still not enough to keep the studio together.
