I think what is true is that like, a lot of gamers that 10-15 years ago would have had Irate Gamer brain and called things "dogshit" now have Video Essayist brain and call things "bad design"

It's so odd to think that 400 years ago people were already taking up their wives and bringing them to town to show them the Italian Motion
Taking my wife up, carried her to Charing Cross, and there showed her the Italian motion, much after the nature of what I showed her a while since in Covent Garden. Their puppets here are somewhat better, but their motions not at all.

Whenever you make an exclusionary choice in a video game, you are abandoning unseen strands of narrative; this is important because, in many cases, what holds the narrative together is the gravity of the "dark matter" of roads not taken. Choices matter because they occlude "wasted" content.

Sorry but I'm not going to argue with analysis that is so shallow and uninformed that I'd have to take out half my brain and put it in storage before I can get down to its level

Writers, what word do you most enjoy seeing used to describe your work? For me it's "alarming."

The setup I ended up going with for the Linux machine I currently have (which is a very low-powered laptop that I have as a toss-around computer, basically) is to ditch a proper desktop environment completely and just use... i3, as in the tiling window manager

It is very funny to be playing white-red aggro in powered cube, see someone play a turn 1 Sorin off a Mana Crypt – thus stopping basically my entire deck – only for them to lose the flip over and over again until they die.

I feel like the era when these kinds of cards (mana dorks) were good enough to put into powered cube has come to a close. The combination of extremely good 0-1 mana interaction and how potent a lot of 2-3 mana plays are has rendered them kind of valueless.

#mtg B&R: everyone expected Vivi and/or Cauldron to be banned and I think further nerves to monored makes sense given context but I'm surprised by taking out Proft's too.

Question for Linux perverts: What are the good alternatives nowadays to the default Gnome-based desktop environment you get with most distros? Is there presently a way to use a tiling WM without doing unreasonable amounts of computer touching?

That you personally find something dull, or annoying, is not, in fact, evidence that it is "an op".

Here's how you could have avoided reposting the stupid beer jacket image. First, notice two things:
1. The original poster is a rando giving no indication that they're in China or what the context of the image is
2. It's oddly low quality, probably copy-pasted across multiple social media sites

At this point there's been enough churn in my followers between twitter and here so most of you may not know this:
