When explaining fantasy the other day I had to say "I can't really tell you when fantasy started, because probably the first human thought in the world was about magic." Humans have been fantastical thinkers from day one.

A reminder that this anti-trans panic is 100% bullshit and exactly none of our country’s problems are related to someone expressing their gender identity and everyone who isn’t a hate-filled weirdo knows it.

Chuck Schumer and the corporate Dems aren’t just not up for this fight, they have no intention whatsoever of doing anything that will actually address the material conditions that gave rise to fascism.

More people are waking up to this and that’s hopeful, but that recognition is everything.

Comics are like chess. There are a lot of moving parts w/deceptively simple rules that need to mesh w/o visible seams for everything to come together properly.

Balloon order, panel order, leading the reader around the page, perspective, character vs. environment focus, and Actually Telling A Story.

Banned Book Club's been on many prestigious lists, but none more exciting than today.

@freedomreadproject.bsky.social has it on a list ofways to help talk to your kids about banned books. We're helping!

And a school newspaper included it in a list of PUNK BOOKS! The youths think we're PUNK!

This is the facility that I and many others have been protesting. We’ve been hit, thrown, gassed, and shot with pepper bullets but none of that holds a candle to what is being done to people *in* the actual facility.

Read this thread. Don’t look away. Keep your eyes and the pressure on Broadview.
A family friend was telling us about what her husband shared about his experience in Broadview before he was deported back to Mexico. She's been sharing to friends and family because she's just in disbelief & horror what her husband told her. She wasn't able to talk to him until he was in Mexico.

Ha. I predicted something like this in Gendocybin. Sadly when it comes to terrible things, I'm too often right.
A proposed change to a Department of Homeland Security rule could impose “biological sex” DNA testing on millions of immigrants and Americans as part of the Department’s mass biometric surveillance program.
New DHS Proposal Expands Biometric Surveillance Program to Include DNA Sex Test

Every time she comes up, I remind you all that Pamela Paul killed a pro trans paragraph in a review I wrote for the New York Times, lied about it in the press, then when I confronted her with receipts, said “Let’s keep this to ourselves.”
In which a straight woman highlights a bunch of known anti trans activists and claims there's a divide in the queer community.

It's pure propaganda and gaslighting.

Please place orders with your local comics shop by December 15th & spread the word— thank you!

Evil.
Last night, the National Guard chased children who were out enjoying Halloween in Navy Yard.

There is no valid reason for armed soldiers to terrorize children like this. End Trump’s occupation of DC. National Guard out NOW.
