There are so many elements that have made his ascension possible: co-opted corporate media; social media’s unregulated environment; the overwhelm from the sheer number of misdeeds; coordinated foreign interference; destruction of K-12 education; racist grievance culture; unchecked gross inequity.

i find it funny when digital rights activists, particularly in the US, speak out about the problems with US tech and even advocate digital sovereignty now, as if their advocacy and opposition to government and regulation didn’t help usher us toward this terrible reality in the first place

This video, viewed millions of times on TikTok, Facebook and X, claims to show Venezuelans taking to the street to thank the US for detaining Maduro.

But the video is a combination of four AI-generated clips and was first posted on TikTok by a user who frequently shares AI videos. It's not real.

It was a shock and an unexpected medical event, and she was at the premiere vet ER in the area when it happened. No one saw it coming. It makes it so hard and different from other losses of other beloved pets. I don’t know what to do with it.
