It's 20 years of post Katrina trauma and a government invasion coming after those who helped rebuild the city. Kenner stepped up.

216 members of Congress just voted to criminalize actual life-saving health care for youth. That’s the story. While people are struggling to buy basic necessities and insurance premiums, a cruel bill that targets trans kids was passed.
NEW: Louisiana and lawyer Erin Hawley of ADF just asked a federal judge to IMMEDIATELY end telemedicine prescriptions of the abortion drug mifepristone while their lawsuit against the FDA proceeds. They cite Fifth Circuit opinion and the Comstock Act of 1873

The House is currently debating HR 3492, MTG's Protect Innocence Act, which would criminalize doctors who provide gender-affirming care to minors for up to 10 years. Last week MTG voted no on the NDAA in exchange for getting a vote on this bill

This is a pretty basic and well understood norm. And we know how this admin feels about norms.

Did you know that from tomorrow, Qualtrics is offering synthetic panels (AI-generated participants)?

Follow me down a rabbit hole I'm calling "doing science is tough and I'm so busy, can't we just make up participants?"

If not for vocal distinctions, I would not have been able to tell the lawyers apart. At times, it felt like Agarwal was addressing the court as a student seeking approval and ending every statement with a question mark.
I assume Amit Agarwal was chosen to defend independent agencies at the Supreme Court today because he's a former Alito and Kavanaugh clerk with a conservative pedigree. But he is doing a very poor job, and I think a progressive advocate with subject matter expertise would've been far more effective.

If you were a despotic president, what movie would you force Hollywood to make? I want to see Quentin's Star Trek movie or maybe Kill Bill Vol 3.

Who are the other scientists talking too? Because I'm worried for them.

Failed 2-3 motion to report to full committee favorably: S323 does not advance.
Today, all eyes are on #SouthCarolina, as legislators consider the most extreme and cruel abortion ban in the country: S323.

It’s a total ban with virtually no exceptions. People who have an abortion would be charged with murder, facing up to 30 years in prison.
Trump suggests Khashoggi had it coming: "You're mentioning someone that was extremely controversial. A lot of people didn't like that gentleman that you're talking about. Whether you like him or didn't like him, things happen. But he knew nothing about it. You don't have to embarrass our guest."

An anti-abortion protester has shot someone outside of a South Carolina Planned Parenthood.

My source says one person was injured and taken to the hospital—and that the protester was arrested.

More soon.

To recap: Jeffrey Epstein offered a NY Times reporter photos taken in Epstein's kitchen of Donald Trump and girls in bikinis *and* implored the NYT reporter to put this information in the public discourse in 2015

What did the NY Times editors know about this offer?
