Patient came in with sore throat. While waiting for rapid Strep test result we glanced back at the Covid-19 RAT result: positive. Reminder that masking in health care makes sense, if you don’t want everyone in your waiting room to go home sick, your staff to get sick, and physicians to get sick.

Happy DB Cooper Day to all who celebrate.
On November 24, 1971, a man using the name Dan Cooper boarded a flight from Portland, Oregon, to Seattle.

This marked the beginning of a legendary but unsolved heist, a cold case that’s among the most infamous criminal mysteries in American history. 🧵⬇️

Tear gassing a one-year-old U.S. citizen.

Dragging a U.S. citizen on her way to work out of her car.

Throwing tear gas at a children’s Halloween parade.

It’s time to have a serious conversation about defunding ICE.

A victory for the people of DC, despite our Mayor
NEW: The Court has ruled that the National Guard deployment to DC is illegal and granted a preliminary injunction.

As we made clear from the beginning: the US military should not be policing American citizens on American soil.

This is a victory for DC, Home Rule, and American democracy.

Why does @gene4va.bsky.social keep voting for horrible Trump bills that take away DC home? If you are his constituent, perhaps you could call his office and ask?
I am especially disappointed in @gene4va.bsky.social. He has now voted SEVEN times to advance Trump’s takeover of DC. He claims to support democracy, but then opposes it at almost every turn for the city just 40 minutes away. Why is this local Dem supporting Trump’s agenda so strongly?

20+ Democrats joined Republicans in undermining DC's public safety and Home Rule.

This makes everyone less safe.

A fight for DC autonomy is a fight for democracy.

Shameful.

These 20 House Democrats just joined Republicans in voting to fully repeal DC's police reform laws.

Wiping off the books critical laws on use of force, transparency, and preventing violent cops from getting rehired.

They think that they should have more say over DC police than the people of DC.

If you have a senator please call them and tell them to vote no on these bills that take away more of DC’s autonomy and harms those of us who call the District home.
The two bills the House passed last night serve only to criminalize poverty and erode trust between law enforcement and the communities they serve.

The Senate must vote these bills down and reject this blatant attack on DC’s local autonomy.

Congress has no right to drag us backward.

Republicans just led the longest government shutdown in history and used mass hunger as a bargaining chip. They don't care about DC's safety — they care about their own power.

Democrats, do the right thing and VOTE NO on H.R. 5214 and 5107.

Why does Congress think they can set the laws that govern our local affairs? The 700,000 residents of the District elect local leaders to make those decisions. Congress must reject these bills.
We stand united against all 13 anti–DC Home Rule bills in Congress.

DC is home to more than 700,000 residents who pay taxes, run businesses, and serve in the military. Like all Americans, we deserve the right to set our own local laws.

Congress should reject this unprecedented federal overreach.
