70 commissioners also sent a letter to Council this week calling for a hearing. We do not have a clear idea of MPD’s ground rules for working with (or near) the feds post-emergency. The executive has been reticent to answer questions, or has given contradictory answers. We need a public hearing.

Interesting tidbit: Despite the D.C. Council rejecting @mayorbowser.dc.gov's attempt to repeal the city's sanctuary city law (which limits local cooperation on federal immigration enforcement) over the summer, she pitched the idea to lawmakers again last month.
