Maine Senator Susan Collins said Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem informed her that ICE will end the immigration enforcement surge in the state.
ICE ending Maine surge, Senator Collins says - The Boston Globe
Collins said in a statement that she had pushed Noem and other Trump administration officials to have ICE “reconsider its approach to immigration enforcement in the state.”

This is extremely fishy, because the Constitution Center is (1) not part of the Park Service, (2) not part of the government - it isa private entity, which (3) has a Republican board head that pushed out (liberal) Pres & CEO, Jeffrey Rosen, in a "leadership dispute" acc. to the Inquirer and NY Times

One of the hardest things to do is bring campaign-level communications to the work of governance, and snowstorms are notoriously one of the biggest litmus tests that less-engaged voters use to judge mayoral administrations. This is an excellent way to communicate.

it's cool that so many people in positions of power and influence were so negatively polarized by "wokeness" that they convinced themselves that there was an actual debate about who wanted to erase history and the "wokes" were on the wrong side bsky.app/profile/arch...

This must be weird news to see if you’re one of the literally hundreds or even thousands of university administrators who preemptively censored faculty, scrubbed websites, changed the names of centers, etc.

ahh, off duty police officers getting stopped... now it's serious (but not enough to keep from bashing the left first for saying abolish ice). Reminiscent of antebellum politicians saying "I'm not an abolitionist but stop this one kind of violence against the negroes" etc.
Brooklyn Park police chief Mark Bruley: "We're hearing people being stopped with no cause & being demanded to show paperwork to determine if they're here legally. We started hearing from our police officers the same complaints. Every one of these individuals is a person of color... it has to stop"

The thing is, some people can make mistakes, get things wrong, be careless, etc. But that’s not what Jennings did here. Jennings knowingly, purposefully and intentionally lied to utterly distort what was said, which CNN pays him to do every day. CNN is the enabler of this.
One of the stories that makes me the saddest out of this ICE invasion is one out of the Minnesota Star Tribune today about ICE agents eating at a little Mexican restaurant in the small town of Willmar, Minn, —and then, when they were done, arresting some of the workers.

Never forget that Trump 2016 began with a paid crowd, and that the CNN CEO said Trump's rallies were covered nonstop by that network because he was good for business, if not for democracy.
ICE keeps saying the people protesting it are being paid without any evidence, but we have receipts showing that the people *defending* ICE are absolutely being paid.

And yet we only hear lies about the former on cable news.

Dartmouth College, where I teach, is offering faculty grants to *incentivize* adding genAI to courses. Doubly-depressing, because in addition to the pro-AI stance there’s an astonishing failure to recognize that AI is already on courses, that cheating is incredibly common.
