Yeah, he didn't ace that cognitive test.
Reporter: Governor Walz called for the release of your MRI results

Trump: They were perfect like my phone call where I got impeached.

Reporter: Can you tell us what they were looking at?

Trump: I have no idea. It was just an MRI. It wasn’t the brain because I took a cognitive test and aced it.

I struggle with all of the “Happy Thanksgiving” posts. I was taught lies in school. I grew up to learn the barbarism of the truth. That we continue to celebrate it as such feels like a betrayal - bc it is. We spend the day together making no mention of the lie.

If the House GOP wants to do something, all nine California Republicans could threaten immediate resignation if Texas doesn't give up on their new gerrymander. That would get the attention of Trump and his assistant Mike Johnson.

The denial means nothing. One thing I learned with university bureaucracies is that the top level will publicly support poor performing subordinates right up to the day they remove them.

No way Witkoff is as pro-Putin and pro-Russia as Tucker Carlson though.
Tucker Carlson: What do you think of Putin?

Witkoff: I liked him. I thought he was straight up with me…I don't regard Putin as a bad guy.

Democratic lawmakers should refuse the interviews and challenge Trump to arrest them. That's what Gavin Newsom did and Trump just moved on to his bullshit gambit.
MS NOW confirms: The FBI is working with Capitol Police to schedule interviews with the six Democratic lawmakers who urged service members to refuse to comply with illegal orders.

It's complex. I was born in Waverly, NY, spent a year in Portland and Oakland in the late 70's, worked an Ann Arbor, Chapel Hill, Philly triangle during the 80's, and have lived in Morehead, Kentucky since 1990. So I generally say that I'm "from" Waverly or Morehead but feel most at home in Philly.

It's okay if we just move on from the Washington Post. Same with the New York Times now that I think about it.
At this point, the Washpost edit page is just trolling its readers.

This is today's actual house editorial.

My sense about Musk is that he is a state-level actor who constitutes a threat to the U.S. and Western Europe and should be considered an enemy in (explicit or implicit) alliance with other enemies of "the West." Any post-Trump U.S. government should make canceling his government contracts Job 1.

The New York Times doesn't just hate their readers, they revel in hating their readers.
The New York Times, where the popular mayor-elect of their city is a fringe figure, but the QAnon podcaster who asked him a racist question comes out as a "winner"

This newspaper hates its readers as much as Republicans hate their voters. And if you're still supporting either, you deserve it.
What a strange framing and characterization. How does one describe his blatantly dishonest, racist question about taxes as “press[ing] the Mayor-elect on his policy proposals”? In what way does this lying troll emerge as a “winner“?

This "Don't Obey Illegal Orders" video is badass. Trump's military policy is to commit as many war crimes as possible and these military/intelligence Democrats are throwing a huge wrench into Vance, Hegseth and Rubio's plans for illegal attacks on targets that can't defend themselves.

I'm from Waverly, NY about 5 miles outside the Burned-Over District as it appears on this map. There's more bars than churches in town, but I'm not sure the religious enthusiasm died out. At least four of my classmates (Class of '72) became preachers.

Again, I don’t want to get too personal but the most tepidly political, structurally vulnerable people in my life were protesting ICE all week. The juxtaposition here is just wild.
The degree to which the Democratic Party is failing to meet this moment is staggering. And INFURIATING, when contrasted with the courage on display from ordinary people with far, far less power & protection.
