I was shown C. F. Payne's state bird paintings and they're amazing.

Some time since 2020 or so, "appreciate it" has seemingly evolved to "appreciate ya". Doesn't bother me or anything, just something I noticed.

Some tiny good news after yesterday at least.
BREAKING: The Supreme Court denied an attempt to challenge Obergefell v. Hodges, the case affirming marriage equality nationwide.

Our freedom to marry remains the law of the land.

The coordinated nature of this—none are facing voters in 2026—means that either Schumer approved it or failed in his job as Senate Majority Leader to stop it.

Dems voting "no" get zero credit until they demand a change in leadership. Schumer out as Leader, Durbin out as Whip.
so currently defectors are:

Kaine (2030)
Shaheen (Retiring)
Hasan (2028)
Fetterman (2028)
Durbin (Retiring)
CCM (2028)
Rosen (2030)
King (2030)

Diana, I don’t think this means you’re a tortoiseshell cat. I think you just like to hide in paper bags.

Victoria 3 is something I definitely need to play more to get the hang of, but I don't hate it. I could see myself enjoying it once I get the basic strategies down. I don't feel overwhelmed like in EU4, just... paralyzed for choice. If that distinction makes sense.

I'm tempted to try EU5 solely because I've heard you can automate a lot of things. Because my main gripe with EU4 is I don't enjoy games where I have to keep track of a million things to do well. So if EU5 can help tone that down, I might see if I enjoy it.

Folks - let them think this. I’ve spent 25 years doing campaigns - when you think like this after a loss like last night, you are doomed to lose again.
