"I'm canceled," he says in the sleek profile they gave to him in the New Yorker while his latest special & his new novel is coming out. A lot of people wish they were that canceled.
Louis CK is not in a limbo of cancellation. He's straight up not cancelled & his "cancellation" became a profitable bit for him.

This also extends to window shopping. No one knows the stores in their town anymore (quick, name a place you can get a belt or an electric mixer from that isn’t a big box store)

(No seriously I need a new belt)

We need 15 min cities so people are in touch with where they live again.
The death of browsing is part of the reason art is the way it is now. Our opinions are largely fed to us by algorithms. Spending a spare 15 minutes wandering around a bookstore or comic shop or video rental place was how you found stuff you wouldn't ordinarily pick up and thereby expanded your taste
Bookselling is like the most "people go to the store and buy what looks cool to them without a particular agenda" type business left, and your purchases have a huge influence on what is ordered, what is displayed, and what is recommended.

Here's how silly US racism is.

Black people in California vote consistently for us to to be taxed more, because we are a rich state. We also vote to send that money to West Virginia to help them.

But white people in WV vote consistently to cancel the very programs and assistance they depend on.🤦🏿‍♂️

The last time a baby died from whooping cough in Kentucky was 2018. Now THREE have died in 2025. All 3 babies & their mothers were unvaccinated.

Please remember to get your Tdap booster every 10 years. Vaccines save lives. What a terrifying way to die.

I once asked a bookseller at a large indie store how many people would have to buy a book for it to get the attention of the store buyer and cause an additional order and they said: Three.
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

I am a little tired of being yelled at for this but apparently not tired about: heroin addiction is not RFK’s problem. He’s a sociopath. Most addicts aren’t. Honestly, walk into an NA meeting, grab the first person with a few years to be head of HHS and they’d probably do a better job than Bobby.
This is what happens when you put a privileged, 14 year heroin addict in charge of health. Duh

Obviously this is ridiculous as a policy for employees but also as a customer my blanket preference from any people working in any store anywhere ever is “leave me the absolute fuck alone”

Smiling?? Eye contact?? TALKING TO ME???? Absolutely not!!!!
"Store employees are now required to smile if they are within 10 feet of a shopper.

They also must make eye contact with and wave to or greet the customer.

If they’re within four feet, the employee should ask how the customer’s day is going or if they need help."

🙄 Won't stop the boycott, y'all.
Target is now requiring its employees to smile more
As the holiday season fast approaches, Target is urging its employees to add a little more “jolly” to their work routine.

This is the correct explanation of what happened tonight👇
KBJ threaded the needle thanks to CA1’s unfinished business.

-if she denied the admin stay, the full SCOTUS woulda stepped in to override her.
-if she immediately referred the case to the full Court, they coulda dragged feet.
-instead she boxed them in to act quickly once she does refer the case.

You know what I’m not in the mood for right now or in 2027? A military light super hero movie. Let’s put those down and get back to the rom coms and something horny with magic. Give the kids story heavy live actions with kids in them.
‘AVENGERS: SECRET WARS’ was originally meant to be released today.

The film will now release in December 2027.

I don't think it's even right to say the voting public doesn't care. I think the truth is a lot of voters may generally find trans identity moderately confusing but also *none of their business*.

on the other hand, they find an obsession with harming trans people - say it with me - deeply weird.
Spanberger’s GOP foe spent 57% of her ad budget on anti-trans attacks. Spanberger focused on the economy. You see what won. trib.al/fkMmsR4

The simple truth told time and time again in the polls: The public doesn’t care about trans issues. Voters care deeply about the economy, inflation, & prices.
