If you are hungry right now in metro Lansing, Michigan, here's a resource you might not have considered:

We have a network of tiny free pantries.

CADL Okemos & Haslett each have one, because libraries are awesome and CADL is the best.

But there are others around the area. Here is a map:

My position on impeachment is the same as it was six months ago: Impeachment is first about driving public attention to Trump’s crimes and corruption.

Democrats should introduce impeachment articles and force votes to boost their parallel media effort.

Performative public investigations matter.
Why push for impeachment?

Because politics is an exercise in moving public opinion as much as counting votes in the senate.

The Jan 6 Hearings were not a criminal proceeding against Trump that would end in jail, but they focused public attention.

Interesting: a study of narcissism across 53 countries ranked the US as only 16th most narcissistic. Surprisingly low! I dug up the journal article about it: www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10....

Best take I’ve heard, IRL: “This operation looks like it was designed by the same people who did the East Wing.”
This makes the Iraq War seem well planned.

Here's Marco Rubio burying himself & this regime — what *legal authority* grants a nation to barrel in & take over the governance of another?

Did these Trump 2.0 clowns think this simple Q wouldn't be asked?

This is why the regime wants to control the press. No accountability.

Q: "Trump…said the U.S. is going to run Venezuela. Under what legal authority?"

Rubio: *doesn't answer*

Q: " Let me ask the question again, what is the legal authority for the United States to be running Venezuela?"

This is incredible. Can't get passengers to pay attention to the safety video? Have you considered making it into a telenovela? Bravo. 😆
Philippine Airlines has the best Inflight Safety Video, and I just have to share it with you all. I know what that sounds like, but please watch it. This is absolute cinema.

The government tried to eliminate January 6th evidence, so NPR archived it. Boom

Bravo for this incredible work collecting and saving the January 6th evidence before the government could destroy it

I want to remind everyone that the US has sanctioned members of the International Criminal Court for going through a formal legal process to identify international leaders who engaged in war crimes, making them vulnerable to arrest.
STEPHANOPOULOS: Why wasn't congressional authorization necessary?

RUBIO: It wasn't necessary because this was not an invasion. We didn't occupy a country. This was an arrest operation.

Administrations have come up with lots of flimsy rationales for why their wars don't need congressional authorization over the years, but this might be the most transparently bad faith and facially absurd.

The reality is that DHS's position, backed by Kavanaugh, leaves citizens without any recourse. "Your papers aren't good enough."

DHS, including ICE, is corrupt to the core and abolishing it is the moderate position

It’s not just that DHS administers RealID - the administration explicitly bases its election security policy on RealID proving citizenship. If it doesn’t, then you’d need a passport to vote.

There are a theoretical set of circumstances where a person with a REAL ID would be removable but the actual occurrence of that would be so vanishingly rare that this is almost necessarily a policy intended to result in the arrest and detention of US citizens, both naturalized and native-born

Yeah, people are fixating on a Cabinet Secretary being given a sovereign country to run because the president waged war without congressional approval and kidnapped the old leader. Weird that they’d get hung up on that.
WELKER: Mr. Secretary, are you running Venezuela right now?

MARCO RUBIO: Yeah. People are fixating on that. Here's the bottom line -- we expect to see changes in Venezuela
