A dime that's top of the line. Which way I fly is Hell; myself am Hell. Last of the trans cis girls. They don't love you like I love you. She/Her. https://www.violetallen.love/

I, a romance enjoyer, rarely enjoy the romance in video games, and this gets at several of the reasons why.
Video game romances need to evolve beyond lore dumps
Reading an encyclopedia entry about someone else's life and preferences doesn't equal love

Worst thing in Clues by Sam is when you make a "correct" choice for incorrect reasons and only realize it a few moves later when you are hopelessly entangled in a Gordian knot.

The Heathcliff casting is pretty terrible, but I thought Al Pacino was good as the Garbage Ape.

You guys talk about your own lives as if you were aliens observing from a million light years away sometimes.

It's funny how I still have "oh no, I have to go back to high school!" type dreams but now in the dream I'm usually like, "fuck that, what are they even gonna do to me?" and either stay at home or go to a restaurant.

screwball comedy =/= a zany or wacky comedy. It is a particular subgenre.

I discovered this tweet in my archives, in which three of my four "dream projects" describe my actual novel being (with varying degrees of accuracy). I forgot about the sexy hawkmen, though. Guess that's a theme for future project.

People are acting like Newsom is definitely going to be the candidate even though we are two years out, he has a very thin lead, and he is basically the only one actively campaigning right now.

I know I frequently am very sour about the state of contemporary letters and how people don't know how to write anymore and books are not properly edited anymore, but you know, books are really great. I shed a tear just now thinking about the concept of books. 10/10 technology, imo.

Was ReBoot a bigger deal in Canada? I get blank stares from people here but nerdy people around my age from Canada are all about it.

Yeah Google, I, a person who asks you something about books like ten times a day, obviously want to look up San Diego metalcore band As I Lay Dying and not the book. I know you know what kind of music I listen to, Google. You're always telling me what the name of the song is on my phone. Despicable.
Yeah Google, when I search for "white ink" I obviously want to buy white tattoo ink and not to read the essays of Hélène Cixous. You listen in on my phone calls and emails so you can predict exactly when I want to buy shoes, but you can't get this right? Pathetic.
i googled hexadecimal and all the results were about math and not the reboot character. after all these years, you still have no understanding of me or my desires, google.

New blog post! I reviewed "Plastic, Prism, Void" by @blipstress.bsky.social, out later this spring from @littlepuss.net. I had a blast with this book, which delivers a sweeping T4T romance among magical girls, multiple universes, and literary references galore. open.substack.com/pub/caiomajo...

Reviewing "Plastic, Prism, Void" by Violet Allen, a stylish T4T romantasy with postmodern literary flare.

When people say right-wing politics are uniquely aestheticized I think of that joke about the American spy complimenting the Russian spy on his country's propaganda, and then, when the Russian spy compliments him on America's propaganda he says, "What propaganda?"

Emerald Fennell is the name JK Rowling would give a rich girl.

Am I a heteropessimist? I am without question an old-fashioned romantic. And as a romantic, I feel there is no greater enemy of true, beautiful love between a man and a woman than heterosexuality.

You cannot blame regular millennials for Hobo Johnson. That shit is pure Zillennial.

I find the idea of people withholding negative reviews of my work because I am trans genuinely offensive. I am an artist, not a mascot. If you don't like my work, I won't consider you a poor ally or a traitorous sibling, just a peasant with no taste, which is how I think of you anyway so no worries.

Is it possible that someone made a wish on a monkey's paw that Gen Z would stop using AAVE as their main source of slang and this is the result?
"'You don’t want to eat?' the woman, dubbed 'ASU Foid' by Clavicular’s fans, asked. 'You want your chicken tenders?' Only when the chicken tenders arrived could Clavicular finally relax."

I really don't love the small-c conservative/reactionary vibe infecting progressive spaces these days

"Writer" is kind of a weird descriptor to me because I see what I do as closer to what a painter or musician does than to what an essayist or critic or journalist does.

The Summer Olympics is an opportunity for the common man to rise up and achieve mastery in a grand festival celebrating the brotherhood of man. The Winter Olympics is for rich people seeking death, recalling the funeral games of antiquity. And so Eros and Thanatos are enacted on the global stage.

We can do a much better job at explaining antisemitism to leftists.

Antisemitism is particularly insidious precisely because of its flexibility — people slipping into antisemitic tropes use Jewishness alternately as an ethnicity, a race, a nationality and a religion, often without realizing.

Like I said a couple years ago, leftist antisemitism is getting worse. Like, we're at the Naming The Jew stage and next I guess will be the triple parentheses

Not sure why everyone is so down on Ai art these days. Sure, some of Weiwei's work may be a little on the nose and perhaps he relies a little too bit much on shock value, but you have to consider the cultural context, and certainly few artists have made political use of the readymade like him.

Learning not to love yourself not for treacly self-help reasons but because most people hate themselves and so loving yourself makes you into a kind of Ubermensch.
