THIS.
EVERY FUCKING WORD OF THIS.
They caused measurable environmental damage, took twice as long as they would have done with actual humans, didn't give a legion of gifted creatives a payday (That we all always need all the time) and then have the fucking audacity to whine that people don't like it
I keep thinking about all of the people who were NOT hired as part of this exercise. All the real world production crew. The actors. The caterers supporting real world shoots. So many people with real skills not being paid. So. Many. Creative. People. Not. Being. Paid.
The company behind the mcdonalds ad:

Imagine taking more time than it would take to do something traditionally. I bet it would take a builder longer to build a house out of jelly instead of brick, because jelly isn't brick.

It's fascinating and disgraceful at the same time, how there's a near blackout in the British media over the hungerstrike of a group of Palestine Action remand prisoners.

It's over a month in now and they are being hospitalised, but crickets on the TV or the papers.

21-year-old Palestinian detainee Abdul Rahman Al-Sabatine from Husan has died in Israel’s Shaare Zedek Hospital. Detained since June 24, 2025, he had no prior health issues. His death adds to growing reports of abuse and medical neglect in Israeli prisons.

Sinn Féin have literally taken more seats than Fine Gael at both of the last elections.
During a heated exchange in the Dáil during Leaders' Questions today, Simon Harris accused Sinn Féin of being "hypocrites".

"People see through it, and that's why you are sitting over there rather than being in government," he told Pearse Doherty.

Oh wow. Imagine if Germany & the Allies *hadn’t even been at war.*
After World War II, 3 German U-boat crewmen were sentenced to death for machine-gunning Allied sailors who were clinging to life rafts after their boat was sunk.
It's long been known in the military that this is a war crime. Pete Hegseth must be fired and prosecuted.

My middle schooler goes to a public school that, as a matter of policy, provides time during school to complete all schoolwork. There’s no homework as a matter of equity, because some kids don’t have a home or a stable and quiet place to do it. And it turns out this is good for everyone!

Actually giving everyone learning accommodations would remove both the burden and the stigma of seeking them from anyone who needs them, and would be a big positive step in education policy, just like free school lunch helps all kids and all their families. Gatekeeping hurts everyone.
Balancing "no person with a disability should be denied accommodations" with "it's important to discourage non-disabled people from pretending to be disabled to take advantage of these accommodations" is really difficult and I don't have a great answer for what anyone should do about it.

“AI is clearly sticking around so you have to get used to it” wrong. I don’t have to get used to shit. I am a practiced hater and I can keep this going for decades if I am required to

Massively important thread!
The people who fundraise for local initiatives, like a hospice, are energetic, engaged, motivated, if they weren't busy with a local campaign imagine what else they could accomplish? I believe it's a SOP for politicians to keep 'keep them busy', to keep community-minded

Horrible story, and I hope those assholes are caught and dealt with

And while I certainly blame far right agitators, Facebook etc, and sleeveens like McGuirk/Gript for fomenting this kind of awful stuff, Simon Harris and others in government need to take a hard look at themselves and their rhetoric
Asylum seekers have told of how they were followed by men on motorcycles before being subjected to an alleged attack in rural Co Dublin yesterday.

The incident – which saw the young men beaten and their car windows smashed – has been condemned.
