Ok. This was a very bleak movie but it had elements I enjoyed. I liked the crafting of the story. I got even more out of after this dsicussion though. As Emma says, don't watch it if you are not in a good frame of mind.
And lastly, in this month's Starship Alexandria patrons-only episode, @aptshadow and I discuss a recommendation from one of our patrons. It's a movie called Aniara (2018). If you want to get an extra episode every month, you can become a patron here: www.patreon.com/StarshipAlex...

A worthwhile listen.

In this episode I learned it's possible to play far, far too much "Vampire: The Mascarade".

We’re having monster fun on the new Starship Alexandria episode. Plus our patron special looks at the weird, bleak but very good film Aniara.

I love @emmanewman.bsky.social’s policy of only talking about things she loves. This podcast is pure escapism. Also, motivation to watch and read stuff.

Lovelies, here's a shiny new episode of Starship Alexandria, in which I recommend the movie Godzilla Minus One to @aptshadow.bsky.social in the hope he'll recommend it to the fleet.

It's a cosy, nerdy, and occasionally silly low stakes discussion.

There are many reasons I love making Starship Alexandria with @aptshadow.bsky.social such as lots of laughter with a very dear friend, and being able to have nerdy conversations about things I love. Discovering new things is high on the list, but more so seeing listeners discover and love them too!

Speaking of @emmanewman.bsky.social , hearing you swearing and laughing in the bloopers episode of the advent series really elevated my mood on a dim day. So much so that I decided to finally give one of your books a try, and I’m really enjoying Planetfall. Excellent writing and performance!

Finished Le Guin‘s ‘The Lathe of Heaven’ today. Such a captivating novel with which to begin the year - the type that a reader is likely to ponder on *long* after the closing pages (oh, & the final paragraph is beautifully crafted).
So a fine time to listen to this informed & animated discussion 👇

Morning Womble, I'm currently between books after finishing 'The Vengeance' by @emmanewman.bsky.social last night. Its an excellent swashbuckling adventure in 18th Century France and I enjoyed it a lot.

As I've no book pic though, have this one I took this morning from the bridge near my house :)
