Before playing a Doctor Who homage on International Tardis Day on RNZ Concert, Miro Shimaoka is playing some oud music from the Penguin Cafe Orchestra. I hope someone explains the pun to him.

I wonder what happened to Pope Francis’ jazz collection.
He said "Amen" straight into the drop

Lmao Pope Leo threw a rave for an archbishop's 75th birthday this is kind of incredible

The people are arriving for the Chi Gung conference at the College. That would explain why it's raining!

Peters seems to think that he is set, having the position of kingmaker for the rest of his retirement. #nzpol

Quick cartoon. I was hoping to stay unplugged this week but I saw some news and had to take a break to draw this out. I think we all needed to see it realized.

Clicks on article to see which karakia offended them. I think I used "Tuwhera" by Scotty Morrison in an intercessory prayer at church without offending anyone because it works so well. The Community Board Members in question seem indelicate to me.

Returning to Dunedin on the bus after a visit to my mother in Invercargill I noticed the billboards the National Party had up on the oneway. Awfully decent of the Party to tell us how much the polls are panicking them, I thought.

Three nights in Invercargill to see my mother - she's moved care homes, still reasonably ticking over mentally for 93 yrs old - I return to the College, and with exams over, it is empty of residents. The kenopsia begins for the summer.

Maybe if America gave priority with migration to the Christian population in Nigeria that would create some relief to the existing tensions in that country.

At first scroll I thought it was too early in November to be lighting Christmas trees in public.
Absolutely breathtaking sight, thousandsof students walking through the night. Route from Belgrade to Novi Sad.

If the president does decide to go to Scotland then I'm sure the Scots can work out the notes to play bagpipes on the golf course. It's a very catchy tune.

I went across the carpark to empty my tea leaves in the garden; the air was cold enough that I could see my breath.

The braided river may have eddies, it may go down to the aquifer, it is always moving. The risk of high nitrate levels comes from other sources than the river itself.

I would like to say my religious readings this morning changed from Nineteenth Week after Pentecost to Ninth Week before Christmas. This is not a drill.

Today I picked up my first carton of Bundaberg spiced ginger beer at the supermarket, and it's not even Halloween yet.

After a windstorm that brought down trees in New Zealand what should we brace ourselves for next?

Just printed out the church service sheets for Sunday. Momentarily confused because the coming events now go through to December, and it's too early to be announcing carol services. We haven't had Halloween yet!

Got it. I will not call the new gymnasium building at the White House the 'Epstein Ballroom'.
The Epstein Ballroom it is
Why does everyone keep calling it “The Epstein Ballroom?” Please stop repeating “The Epstein Ballroom” because it is not called “The Epstein Ballroom!” Don’t tell the news that it’s called “The Epstein Ballroom” and please don’t repost this!!!!!
