I'm not surprised a physical-media games store is struggling, kinda amazing they outlasted the chain record stores and video stores

Still, awful to see more people thrown out of work right now

In Trump’s second term, white nationalist ideas are the policy. From extremist appointments and Project 2025 to “remigration” rhetoric, and attacks on human rights, the administration is entrenching racism and Christian nationalism into U.S. governance, with impacts meant to last long after Trump.
Trump’s Year Of Making White Nationalism Great Again
In the first year of Donald Trump’s second term, ideas once confined to white nationalist fringes have been folded directly into U.S. governance. Through extremist appointments, the implementation of ...

Was browsing Kanopy and they have one of my favorite Soviet Sci-fi films, Through Thorns to the Stars (aka To the Stars by Hard Ways)

I'd recommend this one, strong environmentalist themes that feel ahead of it's time

What is happening in Gaza "and Sudan can be considered a kind of contagion of extreme genocidal violence to achieve military and political goals. The party carrying out genocide in both cases authorizes the killing of civilians without the need to consider international condemnation."
“The war in Gaza has firmly established that the international legal, moral, & political order contains a double standard & was never meant to serve the needs of weaker nations & societies. Rather, the international order was founded to enable the devastation of these societies…”

A painful truth.
Israel’s war on Gaza has made genocide an accepted weapon of war. We’re already seeing it in Sudan.
Israel’s genocide in Gaza set a global norm that views extermination as a ‘natural’ part of how nations and paramilitary groups wage war. We are already seeing this in Sudan.

I don't think 'spoilers' make films and shows "better" but I do find it old we've decided knowing plot points will 'spoil' something, as if the acting, set design, costume, music, etc etc is all just immaterial and we're watching just to see which characters die or end up romantically linked
