We really should let Steve Bannon know that Ireland is so woke, that we have an entire year in school devoted to transitioning.

This is what it's come to? This is what the rest of the world is supposed to deal with? This man? This walking insult to every sentient being on the planet? And every day the US continues to foist this malignant stupid prick on the rest of us is another day they'll have to beg forgiveness for
Trump: "There are windmills all over Europe. There are windmills all over the place. And they are losers. One thing I've noticed is that the more windmills a country has, the more money that country loses, and the worse that country is doing. I haven't been able to find any wind farms in China."

Impeached? He needs the maduro treatment
He is unhinged
Norwegian PM has confirmed that the bonkers letter is real. Crazy, incoherent, dangerous, Dumph needs to be impeached.
In a letter to multiple European ambassadors today, President Trump says that because Norway failed to give him a Nobel Peace Prize, “I no longer feel an obligation to think purely of peace”

The letter goes on to demand “complete and total control of Greenland.”

Let that sink in.

I love it too! But its no Star Trek IV and I hold the badge of honour of being blocked by Shatner cause he went into my twitter post about Nimoy vinyl albums I owned and then blocked me when I didnt have any of his albums.

The River Deel. I used to ride my pony there after school most days & in summertime I'd go for a swim, alone. The parent in me is so freaked out by that fact
It was also the backdrop to most romantic encounters of the local teens, popular mitching spot & of course we all swam unsupervised in summer
My favorite Twitter prompt was "RT this with your home river," so reskeet this with your home river.

Mine is the Patuxent.

Roblox has introduced mandatory age verification for its users. Children must upload a photo of themselves to Roblox with the image then processed by an American Age Verification Company, Persona.

I am *very* curious to know whether this is GDPR compliant.

We had the only phone on our road for years, so we'd regularly get a call 'hello, will you get Mary Doherty for me please? I'll call back in 10 minutes' & one of us would have to hare down the road to get a neighbour for their call
The Ballinrobe telephone "exchange" (already aging myself) was one of the first to go digital because by then it was one of the oldest most outdated in the country.

We used to have to pick up the receiver *AND CRANK A HANDLE* just to call the operator!

"Hiya, Mary. Can you get me #58 please?"
Without revealing your actual age, what's something you remember that if you told a younger person they wouldn't understand?

A friend worked in the exchange in Dublin, so regularly had to connect culchies phoning home.
So one day, someone asks for Ballybeg 4.
He dials the Galway swtich.
"Ballybeg please."
"Connecting."
"Hello, Ballybeg here."
"Hello Ballybeg, this is Dublin, could I have Ballybeg 4."
"They're not in."
My mam was an operator. Once, a payphone making a call overseas was on a line that kept breaking. Mam kept monitoring and kept managing to reconnect them immediately. When the call ended, the person rang back to thank her, and put some money in the slot saying “There’s something for yourself”.

This is
1) flat wrong on the facts
2) flat wrong on the law
3) flat wrong on the impulse to shield a company from the consequences of its own actions in offering the creation of CSAM-as-a-service

This is the sort of morally bankrupt statement that should have its speaker be booed off every street
My word. (Again.)

Media Minister Patrick O'Donovan: "At the end of the day, it's the choice of a person to make these images... technology is moving so fast... even if the law is changed there's no doubt about... the advances are far faster than law is able to respond..."
