The bust of Rosalind Franklin in the Long Room at Trinity. It was taken this year so the library shelves around her are empty.
A sculpture of the head and shoulders of a woman. I don't know what it's made of, it looks like plaster of Paris. It's all white, apart from the necklace which is made from glass beads. She has shortish hair and a serene expression. It's life-sized or slightly bigger. (Though this is subjective and I am really bad at measuring things by eye so take it with a pinch of salt.) The bottom of the sculpture is a rectangle with her name on it 'Rosalind Franklin' and on top of that sits stacked retangles, curved like the double helix in dna, the head and shoulders part sits above that. The sculpture is shaped so that just below the top of the shoulders, it is cut diagonally in a pleasing diamond shape, going down to the top of the Helix.

There's also so much ugly "public art" around the city centre for this one event. I don't want NFL flags flying along the Liffey, or bunting drapped everywhere, or whatever this is on Capel St. It's really making it feel like a Dublin for tourists and not for the people who live in the city.

Snap! The Garnier one is lovely and light. This Dermalogica one is my other fave but it is a good bit more expensive.

This morning I discovered that it had melted the plastic and fused it around the switches at the front. They no longer move because there is nowhere for them to slide to. It means the whole machine is useless because I can't switch it on.

It's hard to tell from the photo but where there was space for these switches to slide/click between these options, they are now completely surrounded by plastic with no space around them. (The scratches around the switches are where I attacked it with a knife.)

Irish government committee notes on coinage design, 2 May 1927. It includes a request to reduce the fullness in the jowl of the pig depicted and a request for the Minister of Argiculture to select the type of animal to serve as the model for the bull.
