Kudos to the two drunk men on a bench outside City Hall telling every single person who walks past that they’re beautiful. Good to have your full armour on before you make it to Royal Ave where a street preacher with a megaphone will tell you how vile and depraved you are.

The main priority for this FF-FG government, as it was for all the previous ones, is staying in power. And the very deliberate dialing back of climate action effort is simply vandalising this country. They don't give two shits about our environment, or our future beyond the next election

It’s possible he collected compromising material for extortion.
A major question is whether he worked with intelligence agencies

He cited clauses in the Editors code, designed to protect grieving families.

The memo was NOT to be published.

Micheál Martin has been a TD for 37 years. He’s been in government for 25 of those years and in cabinet for 20 of those years. He’s been either Tánaiste or Taoiseach since June 2020.

And every time he’s asked to anything other than build a data centre, he acts like he’s just been handed the job

I'd like to add that like in all industries, when we stop understanding how our tools work, we become entirely dependent on the corporate entities that own the mold. We are trading the ability to build and repair for the convenience of being permanent tenants in someone else's infrastructure/subs.
Vibe coding is working as expected: it'll kill the open-source, secure, and ideologically maintained alternatives to make sure you have to pay the oligarchs to do anything at all, and they can control what you're allowed to make.

Today, Paul Murphy said that the Government are afraid to stand up to big tech, and Micheál Martin replied "How dare you? Who the hell do you think you are? That is a reprehensible assertion."
You can gauge how true an accusation is by how flowery they get in the language of their rebuttal.

You find the idea that you're a top-down person "repugnant"? You're not just saying it's untrue, you're calling it out as REPUGNANT?

I'm afraid that makes it an extremely accurate accusation.
Taoiseach Micheál Martin has defended his leadership of Fianna Fáil amid criticism from within the party over his handling of the presidential election.

"The idea that I'm some top-down person is just repugnant to me as a person. It's not my style," he said. jrnl.ie/6860148

It's funny that in history, as cars got faster and more easily available, infrastructure and laws changed to accommodate them. As bikes and scooters get faster and more available (still not as fast or abundant as cars, mind), there is no push to accommodate them.
And there we have it folks, having failed to do anything to halt the injury and death toll on our roads the government now plans to criminalise cycling.

This will kill bike share schemes around the country. @bleeperactive.bsky.social
