I appreciate the irony of the legos being sea themed
13th February 2026 marks the 29th anniversary of the Great Lego Spill, when nearly five million pieces of Lego fell into the ocean after a cargo ship laden with goods was hit by a storm.

This is such an important question. It is baffling to me that every newspaper – including ones here in Ireland – saw fit to publish ill-informed swill from a total gobshite.

Rich people's opinions on things outside of their area of expertise are of no more value than anyone else's.
We really should be asking ourselves why one rich twat’s racist opinion can become headline news in this country

While the perspectives of thousands of volunteers welcoming migrants in their communities & mixed migrant/British families are never heard?

C'mere #SpéirGorm and #SpéirGhorm, might anybody have any leads on a Dublin-based admin-y type job? Ideally with a charity or nonprofit but really anywhere that kind of makes the world a better place? #JobFairy

One of my firm beliefs is that if Kamala Harris had won in 2024, that's how all Dem presidential candidates would be decided going forward.
every election cycle, democrats give up even more of the pretense of a primary election to the reality of it being a coronation. And they start earlier and earlier to telegraph this intent.

We are barely out of 2025
democratic party cheerleaders are really doing their best to make it seem like the nominee for president in 2028 is gavin newsom already huh

So the landlord govt just voted to raise our rents. Only a few days after announcing "cutting red tape" to allow corps even more control.
They also made massive payouts to semi-state CEOs.
And voted to allow foreign corps sue us if our rights infringed on their profits.
Who do they serve?
Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael and the Lowry lackeys just voted through the Rent Hikes Bill. The average tenant will see a €3,000 a year rent increase as a result.

It's shameful that landlord TDs who will personally benefit cast the deciding vote.

It's a landlords' government!

10 years ago they told us AI and self-driving cars were going to wipe out up to half of all jobs. They didn’t.

But while everyone was talking about whether they would, companies rolled out algorithmic management and used digital tech as a pretext to reclassify workers as contractors.
I'm not even saying that's the most *likely* possibility, but it's just very clear that the likelihood of that outcome as increased and even if there's, like, a 1 in 10 change that "AI replaces most to all white collar jobs in 10 years" that's an *enormous* risk to the social order!

I'm just curious so looked it up and still not clear so asking if anyone here can explain like I'm a child:

Since the TikTok US thing, is the Euro version a totally different company? But they have the same videos? So, how does the structure work and should Euro posters worry about same things?

Couldn't agree more, also the prioritisation of Greenway reveals the official view that cycling is a recreational activity to be monetised and not a routine mode of transport
This is a very important point. One of the mistakes I feel we’ve made around active travel delivery in Ireland is the prioritisation of long-distance commuter routes above local network provision. We did so mainly because their value for money and the “business case” is easier to demonstrate.
"School Streets" have become a thing to watch. Even the loudest high-traffic neighbourhood trumpets will mumble "Except outside schools, of course", but this ignores how (1) kids don't live next to their schools and need to get to the School Street safely and (2) kids go to places that aren't school

I’m seeking photos and videos of drones used by ICE, like these. Please send any you have my way - trying to better understand the patterns.
There are numerous reports across the Twin Cities on ICE monitoring pages of drones circling apartment buildings. What valid law enforcement reason could there be for this?
