when you read a headline like this it's impossible not to think about all the warnings that commentators in the mid-2010s were making about the housing bubble, and B*rtie saying he didn't know why critics don't kill themselves

Arteta won't be sacked over tonight's result but every manager is going to be sweating about dropping points against Wolves between now and the end of the season
Wolves are going to be relegated with one of the worst points records in #PremierLeague history but it's going to be hilarious taking out a manager or two along the way when owners have a hissy fit that they dropped points against us

Scifi led us to believe the threat from AI systems would be sentient robots enslaving populations or triggering nuclear war.

Instead we have dumb systems that are just as dangerous because they're using all the available components, electricity, water & money that their makers can throw at them

I don't believe I've ever seen Ted Levine speak so candidly about his regrets of portraying Buffalo Bill in THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS. He and some of the crew on the film were asked about the film's cultural transphobia by The Hollywood Reporter.

please watch this, and think about the fact that the Irish government wants to fast-track the building of a LNG terminal in the Shannon estuary, bypass normal planning procedures and controls, and restrict the ability of any party to challenge them on it in the courts
I think you should show this film to all politicians in Germany who think that LNG is a great idea.

Even the trailer left me deeply affected, even though I already knew so much about it.

Never mind a social media ban for u16s, it's middle-aged weirdos on unmoderated SM forums who need to have their phones taken away.

Our younger generations on the other hand are growing up with friends from all kinds of backgrounds: they're not scared of or intimidated by a multicultural Ireland

When it comes to housing supply there is a big f*cking elephant in the room
Last year CSO found 65,000 homes empty for 2 yrs, using ESB data, yet for same period less than 3,000 paid the vacant homes tax
So thats around 62,000 houses waiting for someone to call them home

The proposed LNG terminal in Ireland is quite simply a form of tribute to be paid to the US. It will not improve Ireland's energy security and will increase both CO2 emissions and consumer costs. Let's spend the money on decarbonisation instead (will our bosses in Washington let us?).
Government’s plan to import LNG for electricity generation would cost households and businesses up to $8.3bn

Same volume of electricity could be delivered through a $2.5b investment in rooftop solar panels and hot water heat pumps

he's a white supremacist in his bones and if you drive one of his cars or post on his website or use his broadband satellites you're as good as one yourself
We must speak plainly about the agenda Elon Musk & other MAGA leaders are pushing. It’s white nationalism.

There’s no room for Black, Hispanic/Latino, Asian, Native, Jewish or all other Americans in Musk’s monocultural vision.

Multiculturalism is superior. We can’t allow Musk & others to end it.

1/3 What Musk is really referring to here is, of course “race” - that construct that served to define the hierarchies of wealth & power structured by modern colonialism. Like other far right racists though, he uses the word “culture” as a seemingly less pernicious synonym.
