This is the best thing I've ever seen.
Found while looking for something else. I used to have it on a T-shirt and thought I was really clever.

A lot of people forget how in 2004 the Bush regime kidnapped the democratically elected President of Haiti, Jean-Bertrand Aristide, and dumped him in Africa.
Is there any modern precedent for abducting a head of state?

Plenty of examples of coups, assassinations and domestic trials, including show trials, but this is like a Crusader Kings plot.

Terrible take. Literally every FIFA Peace Prize winner has done this.
No FIFA Peace Prize winner has ever done this before
This all seems pretty unbecoming of a FIFA Peace Prize winner

The reason why Venezuela is under attack

U.S. Southern Command chief General Laura Richardson just said the truth out loud:

the U.S. focus in Latin America isn’t “democracy” — it’s controlling oil, lithium, gold, and rare earth minerals. Venezuela, with the largest oil reserves and key strategic

This is the real reason.

Venezuela holds mineral reserves used for data chips etc.

AI is spilling human blood *now* and it doesn't even need to be in direct control of the nuclear codes. It just has the humans amassing wealth behind it.
Economically, they’re putting all their eggs in the AI basket, which is critically reliant on REMs to produce the chips they need to fill the data centres with, and which China threatens to undermine both with their stranglehold of those REMs and by creating their own, better, cheaper genAIs.

I’d love for national teams to state they’re boycotting and refusing to attend.
Instead of everybody making the same joke about the FIFA Peace Prize, maybe we could boycott the World Cup?

This is important.

I think Trump will be thinking of oil because he's a old fool, and not understand the difference in grades.

But the real power - the money - is after the minerals of which China holds the biggest reserves .
It’s 2026. This isn’t about oil, it’s about the country’s significant reserves of strategic rare earth minerals, which Venezuela mostly exports to China.
OK, crash course in oil. Oil has two main gradings, viscosity (light or heavy) and sulfur (sweet or sour). A light (low viscosity) and sweet (low sulfur) oil is easier to process into gasoline and other products than a heavy and sour one, so the light & sweet oil commands a premium price.
