If you use a VPN it might be worth checking you GMail settings even if you are in one of these countries.

Apparently these smart features are off by default in the EU, Switzerland, Japan and UK, but rest of the world folks need to double check.
If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features."
There's other "Smart" add-ons as well, but that's the one that reads your content.

I have spent my kid's lifetime assuring her that she can be whatever she wants. That she can play with dolls, ride bikes, play football, do ballet.

We see lots of people, rightly, condemn how ICE in America for waiting for people at immigration hearings to detain them, but we rarely hear about the fear so many people have of turning up to their reporting sessions in the UK with the Home Office and just being lifted then and there.
