This evening I am once again making this banger of a ‘Sichuan lasagne’, which is the old favourite but with chilli bean paste, ginger, garlic, fermented soy beans, a star anise bechamel and all that good stuff.
Where east meets west: Tamal Ray’s recipe for Sichuan-style lasagne
In the spirit of culinary experimentation, the unexpected flavour in this Chinese-inspired dish is the chilli bean paste

Blimey. Major new split in Your Party. Blackburn MP Adnan Hussain -who is secretary of the Your Party company - says he's quitting due to "persistent infighting, factional competition, and a struggle for power, position and influence rather than a shared commitment to the common good."

Nothing illustrates the arseholery of the IOC and the British Press more than the use of the image of a not-Trans woman to illustrate a story about trans women being banned (because there are no current trans women competing at this level)

“No”

Ian Fleming killed off James Bond at the end of the fifth novel, From Russia With Love, and then starts the next one with “Phew, that last case was a bit much, I had to spend a few days in bed, anyway back to work…”
James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

Anthony Horowitz, author of three 007 novels, says:

“You can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."

PS the more I think about it, the more I think Craig’s Bond was essentially in love with death. His self-loathing and his alienation shift Bond’s devil-may-care daring to a kind of existential indifference. His longing for a judgement can only be delivered in his extinction.

Killing off Bond at the end of No Time To Die, which is IMHO up there with the best Bond movies, I loved it, was actually a cool thing to do and if you want to make another Bond you can just ignore it like 80% of the other on-screen continuity
