I wonder how many of the people acting like this woman is some sort of alien also praised Mamdani for the non-policy related stunts he pulled that were fundamentally about making him seem like a friendly, polite young man.
One of the most surreal answers I've ever been given.

Even outside of transphobia, I am just totally opposed to biological essentialism full stop.

I realise I’m one of the last people in the English speaking world who apparently believes this, but I don’t believe there are pink and blue roles coded into our cells that we should base society
Sonia Sodha is honestly on the wireless saying women are biologically better at rearing children than men. She found a single dad who agreed with her so it's all ok.

It's still baffling to me that South Africa has avoided a revolution despite youth unemployment sitting between 50%-60% for a decade.
To build on Stephen/Nute's points here: We literally saw multiple revolutions driven by young people across the world last year, in part driven by youth unemployment and huge disparity in wealth!

We have a *load* of examples of the outcomes of mass unemployment + connected people + clear target!
If structural unemployment hit even twice as many people as deindustrialisation in the 1980s did, my concern would not be 'will people pay for my words' it would be 'will the political upheaval this causes end really, really badly for me personally?'

I don't know why, but the judge is now citing the historical precedent of Charles I of England. This is an incredibly ominous sign for Yoon.

From ancient grudge break to new mutiny?
NEW: Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has appointed Dame Antonia Romeo as the first female Cabinet Secretary and head of the Civil Service, it is understood.

This analysis isn’t “wrong” exactly (although it leaves an awful lot out). It’s just that coming from an MP with three degrees it feels rather condescending. There’s a sort of “noble savages” approach the Labour Party sometimes takes about people without degrees.
You shouldn't need a degree to afford a decent life 🎓

I still check in from time to time and it's rotten. Every second post is a transparent attempt to game the algorithm and get people to engage - vague posts that require more context, tweets purposefully written in other languages so people have to click the translate button etc. etc.
Logged into X for work reasons and amazed at the feed: astonishingly flagrant ultra-racism, peppered with a few entertaining but poisonous arguments about Your Party. As if specifically to annoy me, the top post was some pseudo-Cath grifter moron drivelling on about the sanctity of Shrove Tuesday.

I made this point the other day but a real "oh shit" moment for me recently was entering the Scottish national debating team into a prestigious international competition and facing at least one team that was clearly just reading out AI speeches and using AI to come up with rebuttal.
Yesterday my friend told me about her PHILOSOPHY students all using ai for their assignments and like come the fuck on man you’re in Uni doing the subject thats Thinking about Thinking and u refuse to Think
