okay I know we joked about it all the time, but have we actually gotten to the bottom of how The French Show With Good Lighting has such good lighting?

Disturbing to see The Express publish this piece about the Canadian school shooting, in which Jo Bartosch argues that “an opposite-sex identity is….a warning sign” - published under a headline identifying a “new terror threat”.

‘We need to talk about one new terror threat after Canada's mass shooting’
JO BARTOSCH: This is another data point in a disturbing pattern.

Job losses are obviously going to be a huge consequence of AI, but something likely to materialise much sooner (indeed already materialising!) and which requires a political intervention yesterday is the impact on education.

Also fascinated to know whether that staffer would ever call a woman a chick / a trans woman a chick with a dick to their face, other than when talking to a journo and trying to make out that they're some blokey salt of the earth prick.

Okay so this is going to derail my entire afternoon, stand by for the entire PLP sorted into “sensibles”, “aura farmers” and “shitposters”.

Aura Farmers beat Sensibles. Shitposters beat Aura Farmers. Sensibles beat Shitposters.

Nandy in The Guardian today had strong shitposter energy.

I find this argument unconvincing. AI is definitely going to change society massively but the suggestion in this post that we are weeks away from a Covid-level destabilisation just doesn’t stand up to scrutiny. And the post is clearly written with AI by someone with a financial incentive to boost AI
This post argues AI is having a moment similar to when you heard about some illness in China back in February 2020.

Tech workers just watched AI go from “helpful tool” to “does my job better than I do.” Everyone else is next. Get your financial house in order and lean into what’s hardest to replace
Something Big Is Happening
A personal note for non-tech friends and family on what AI is starting to change.

I realise I cropped that poorly, but yes that is apparently a “senior figure” with Starmer making a “chicks with dicks” jibe in a briefing to the Spectator headlined by a quote from another Labour official saying this:

It wasn’t really the sort of statement one can explain away but, even so, this is a particularly poor attempt to explain it away.
