Reading up from the end is a good tip when turning to these publications, if you have to read them. The news is often in the basement.
This article spends THIRTY THREE PARAGRAPHS quoting mostly reactionaries and genocide activists before conceding, in the thirty fourth paragraph, that Jews and Jewish organizations that helped get Mamdani into office support this decision

That means Maduro & Venezuela can invoke that Maduro has personal immunity against arrest, criminal investigation & prosecution. If US judges don't recognize such immunity (or that Maduro is the president of Venezuela) it opens up for other states to act similarly, potentially against US interests.
Rodriguez: "We demand the immediate release of our President, Nicolas Maduro, and his wife Cilia Flores"

Rodriguez says that Maduro is still the President of Venezuela.

As Irish schools return from the Christmas break, a thought for principals: if your school is still on X and you are posting pictures of students there, there is a non-zero probability of dickheads there using Grok to create CSAM images from your school photos.

My Fourth Time, We Drowned (2022), by Sally Hayden (@sallyhayd.bsky.social)

This was one of the hardest books I read all year. Harrowing, moving, and absolutely essential. A reminder (if one were needed) that the EU is not our ally in the fight for migrant justice.

Josef Veselsky, Holocaust survivor, Ireland's oldest man, has died aged 107.

He witnessed his parents being pushed into a cattle truck. They were among some 263,000 Jews of Czechoslovakia murdered by Nazis and collaborators.

May his memory be a blessing.

4 years living in the UK completely changed how I drive. I am _far_ more patient now. All it took was a few hundred pounds in automated fines. There's nothing like getting a photo of you running a red light posted to your house (along with a £100 fine) to remind you of the rules.

Everytime I'm back home, the level of careless driving surprises me.

That used to be me, the boy racer driving like everything was a race against time.

11 yrs in the UK has taught me to slow down (cameras & lower limit), drive with patience & to keep left.

Ppl do it coz they'll get away with it.
