Over 1,000 unionized Starbucks workers walked out yesterday on Red Cup Day! ☕ 65 stores are striking indefinitely because Starbucks and its law firm allegedly continue to refuse good-faith bargaining and deploy aggressive union-busting. The strike grows until workers get a fair contract.

I wish we lived in a land where if journalists heard the president call one of their colleges "piggy" or suggest another of their colleagues, who was butchered for what he wrote, in some way had it coming, they would close their laptops, leave as soon as possible, and ask to be reassigned.

Across the country, Starbucks workers are on an Unfair Labor Practice strike for a fair first contract, and I know which side I’m on. Baristas make Starbucks an extraordinarily wealthy company. They are entitled to their fair share of that wealth and to benefits and fair treatment on the job.
