The U.S. is a rogue state. The United Nations should move its operations from NYC to a stable democracy where its diplomats and other employees can work in safety.

Marco Rubio is reportedly saying Maduro will stand trial in US courts.

Which means it’s now the US administration’s position that US courts can hold foreign presidents, but not the US president, accountable for crimes.

What if economics needs a wider lens — one that leads with humility, centers communities, and plans for uncertainty instead of pretending the future is predictable?

This week, economist George DeMartino lays out what a more honest economics could look like.

Look up the word "credulous" in the dictionary and you will find an etching of Danny Westneat. And yet even HE isn't buying all this if you tax the rich they'll move out of state bullshit.
Will WA’s rich flee? Doubtful, but they’ll sure talk about it
The prospect of a state income tax on millionaires has already got some of the state's richer residents talking about leaving. History says it's mostly just talk.

A TRUMP GESTAPO ("Customs & Border Patrol") THUG was charged with RAPING MULTIPLE WOMEN, using his BADGE as pretext to enter their premises.

HE’D DONE IT BEFORE in 2022.

They had his DNA.

It’s how they caught him.

Empty threats aside, Dems should run in 2026 and 2028 on imposing a federal wealth tax much of the proceeds from which be returned to the states. The federal government essentially serving as the wealth tax collector for the states is far harder to evade.
Billionaires are considering cutting or reducing their ties to California by the end of the year because of a proposed ballot measure that could tax the state’s wealthiest residents.
A Wealth Tax Floated in California Has Billionaires Thinking of Leaving
It’s uncertain whether the proposal will reach the statewide ballot in November, but some billionaires like Peter Thiel and Larry Page may be unwilling to take the risk.

Then 3 agents divvy up his paid for food—taking what they want for themselves.

"Can I just get the wife's number to call and let her know?" woman asks.

"No, guess he should've complied," agent says.

I'm not saying something that people don't already know. But it's worth making the issue explicit. We have an elaborate jurisprudence of probable cause, rooted in explicit strictures in the constitution that places big limits on what police can do to you. Those limits may be honored in the breach...

That headline is misleading. Mitt doesn't actually want to "tax the rich, like me." He advocates for taxing his heirs. But mostly it's just fear-mongering about "entitlements" and the "debt cliff" to make the case for means testing future retirees.
Mitt Romney is in the New York Times saying we should tax the rich.
