In April 2020, my then-5yo came up with a song called “Join The Team”.

When I get low, this always lifts me up.
The 90s theme for figure skating is the universe telling me it’s time for AARP and Depends. Intros telling me skaters were born in 2001 and 2002. 💀

Working for a lifetime to medal at the Olympics only to lose the podium by a fraction of a second. Sport can be brutal.

The drone footage in this Olympics has been fantastic. Really emphasizes how fast these athletes ski, life, whatever.

I cannot stop listening/watching to this. It's so freaking good...if you like Claypool/Zappa/weirdness.

Well, now I want someone to ask...

Tom Pritzker sending an email to Epstein: "If OK w you, Shlomo will join us for lunch on Sunday. What time? Among other things, Shlomo was the senior commander of the Lebanese army for a week while he was with the IDF. ...don't ask."

God bless nurses, and especially pediatric nurses.

People who enter professions to help others - nurses, home care workers, elderly workers; etc: thank you.

I finally have a newsletter!

It's called The Fine Print* and I'll be writing about tech, media, politics, consumer rights (and whatever else I damn-well please).

It's free, but if you have disposable income, you can support independent reporting for just $50/year or $4/month.

Budweiser wins the USA Today ad meter and the Lay's potato farmer commercial came in second, showing once again how Americans are easily distracted with "americana" and need reminders that potato chips are made from potatoes.

Great read from Wired about what went into making the Bad Bunny halftime show.

www.wired.com/story/bad-bu...
Inside Bad Bunny’s Historic Super Bowl Halftime Show
Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl performance required 9,852 theatrical pyrotechnics, nearly 400 costumed extras, and a lot of ingenuity. And yes, that was a real couple featured in the wedding.

Thanks everyone for making the Super Bowl enjoyable! The last couple of years being on Bluesky during the game have been a lot fun. Like Twitter back in the late Aughts early Tens. Let’s do it again next year!

Great art is often political. And it’s quite the needle to thread when you create great political art on the biggest and most commercial stage on the planet.

The last two half time shows are just that. Especially compared to the boomer rock halftime shows of the last 20 years.

Watching the commercials with kids is hard because every commercial is “who’s that?” or “why are you laughing”. Tyranny of knowledge is hard!

Mike Tyson doing MAHA ads about obesity when measles is back.

NBC could have said no to the ad revenue for this.

The joy from this half time show!! If you hate this, you have no joy, no love, no light.

Also: make Puerto Rico a state!

That Dunkin ad. Was it AI? Did the actors get scale? Did everyone else have to explain to their kids who those people were?
February 9, 2026 at 1:03 AM
Used to be a time when movie stars would go overseas to do commercials because it was beneath them to do ads.

Now we have A list actors doing full on ad campaigns for tech bro companies.

Most CMOs: I wanna go big for a Super Bowl ad. What could we do?

Levi’s CMO: let’s get the rights to James Brown and have people shake their asses to an audience of 115 million people.
