KBJ threaded the needle thanks to CA1’s unfinished business.

-if she denied the admin stay, the full SCOTUS woulda stepped in to override her.
-if she immediately referred the case to the full Court, they coulda dragged feet.
-instead she boxed them in to act quickly once she does refer the case.

It’s important to note this was a procedural action, not a ruling on the merits of the underlying case. Justice Jackson wasn’t siding with the Trump administration; she was making sure the legal process unfolded correctly and fairly.

This has been framed weirdly, but reads to me as an endorsement of the judicial process operating at its pace, and with deliberate speed, but not as the DOJ arrogantly demanded today.

The AP tracked down details of some of the people killed in President Trump's military strikes on drug smugglers he describes as narco-terrorists.

They were, with one exception, not high-level criminals. One was a fisherman. One was a bus driver; another a taxi driver.

My dad died on Friday. I wrote this obituary, which is disproportionate to the impact he had for our family, his friends and our nation, but hopefully reflects his many achievements and what a special guy he was. I'll miss him forever.

If Toronto wins the World Series the rule is America becomes Canada, nobody knows this because the last time it happened Canada beat Philadelphia, and Clinton was like "double or nothing" which they wisely agreed to, but now we're here (like most Clinton era policies, it felt prudent at the time).

Probably would be a good time to have a reliable BLS providing trustwortthy jobs numbers.
Thursday: Target to lay off 1800 corporate jobs
Monday: Amazon to lay off 30,000 corporate jobs
Tuesday: UPS to lay off 48,000 operations and management jobs

You'd think with all these layoffs, CEOs and CFOs and COOs would also be fired. Alas.

It would have been “get your fucking soldiers out of our cities.”
