Newcastle keep on keeping on. A fine performance & a great night in Paris stirred the senses, but the more they see of the Champions League the more they want to stay there and staying with the elite is tough.

What an effort from #NUFC. Looked like they could fold early on, but in the end they were so unfortunate not to win in Paris. Another 1-1 draw at Parc des Princes.

It's a play-off for #NUFC, so 2 additional fixtures. Still other games to be completed, but 2nd leg at home.

Considering how that 1st half could have gone after (nonsense of the) early penalty & then 8th-minute concession, #NUFC rallied well - & what a way to end it.

#PSG dominating possession, but #NUFC restricting them - & a real threat from set-piece situations.

Huge goal.

A damaging home defeat, especially given the away run to come.

Villa clinical, whereas #NUFC were wasteful - though home side also lacked invention & missed Guimaraes' drive.

#NUFC are 9th, 4 points adrift of fourth place.

Game over.

From the corner that followed a magnificent Pope save from Watkins, Villa put the ball back into the box, Watkins ghosts into the back post unmarked & heads beyond Pope.

Awful defending.

A real test, this.

Tonali should have scored inside 37 secs, but then Villa had best of it. Buendia with a cracker.

Miley forced a great save from Martinez, but #NUFC went 41 minutes between shots.

Some goal, this. #NUFC started well, but Villa have been growing into it.
