Great idea. We should rename more things in honor of Trump.

Hey, Dr. Seuss Enterprises & @drseussfoundation.bsky.social:
Are you going to allow the Trump White House to violate your trademark, despoil your brand, and insult the legacy of the late, great Theodor Geisel in the service of the politics of hate?

A "serious setback" for the administration? What an odd and offensive framing.

Not sure about Hulu's algorithm.

The coming Avian Measle-Pox pandemic is gonna be something, but don't worry, RFK JR is doing everything he can to make sure your children don't get too much fluoride.

I hope Frank Blethen is okay. Thoughts and prayers.

Don't have the city district breakdown yet, but countywide, only 23% of registered 18-24 year-olds turned out compared to 64% of age 65+. Registration rates also increase with age. So a lot of older voters did not think their voices were being heard as well.

I mean, the race was obviously over after Monday's ballot drop, but whatever.

Um... what?
November 12, 2025 at 9:28 PM
3/ Meanwhile, younger voters are far less likely to vote than older voters, which means the rate at which younger voters are challenged is far higher than the Challenged Ballots by Age graph initially suggests.

That's it. No conspiracy. It's just an unavoidable property of vote-by-mail.

1/ While we wait on Bruce to accept the inevitable and concede, let's take a moment to explore why challenged ballots tend to lean toward the left. It's because younger voters tend to lean left, and they have a higher percentage of challenged ballots. Why? Because their signatures aren't set.

There has been some chatter about recounts. And there probably will be a mandatory machine recount. But tabulation errors are random and rare, and mostly involve determinations of whether a ballot is an undervote or a write-in. They almost never change outcomes.

The good news is that I just harvested half my fall carrot crop. The bad news is that I had to harvest them early and all at once because the rodents suddenly discovered them and harvested the other half over night.
November 8, 2025 at 11:53 PM
It's old news, but for all of Trump's lies about the money going to blue voters in Democratic cities (ie black people), in WA state and throughout the nation, it's the rural red counties that disproportionately rely on federal subsidies like SNAP.

And yet NYT still refuses to call the race. Weird.

2/ Let's be clear: If the postmark date does not align with the date in which the mail piece was first received, then it's not a "postmark date." Postmarks no longer have any meaning. And that would be as true for tax returns or other time sensitive items as it is for ballots.

Whenever Trump rails against vote-by-mail, be clear that this is the kind of safe, secure, & convenient voting he is trying to eliminate. They want elections to be less secure & less convenient, and for you to have less confidence that your vote will be fairly counted because they hate democracy.

Rita says to treat every election like it could be your last, because you never know when it could be your last. So be a good dog like Rita, and vote!

How dare the president of a sovereign nation speak up about the extrajudicial killing of one of its citizens!

If Trump has his way, probably a routine headline a few months from now.

8/ As for the POET officers… look at them. Try picking a fight with these officers and the crowd's likely to rally to their side. Either way, you're not going to get the barrage of tear gas and pepper spray you're looking for.
