Business of 6 staff roasting high quality coffee.

We give:

1% of all revenue to Women's Aid
1% to origin projects
1% to staff
.5% to local projects
€30,000 of coffee between 3 local hospitals

Big businesses could easily run similarly.

A reintroduction as more people seem to be here.
We're a small independent coffee company with 5 full time staff. We've brought coffees to Ireland from producers who are genuinely among world's best. The business however was always meant to be about more than just selling coffee for profit.
What an amazing list. Such brilliant work by @foggynotions.bsky.social in 2025.
Thank you to all the brilliant artists, venues, crew & collaborators that joined us in 2025. And everyone who attended the shows, Foggy Notions members, anyone who supported an independent company in this era of corporate consolidation.

Big love @umackdublin.bsky.social @imbibecoffee.bsky.social

Once again, if you believe that FF&FG would only love to give us a well-resourced, world beating welfare state but it’s just those pesky immigrants won’t let them, you are a gobshite. You have a loyalty card with your local bridge salesman. You were, in fact, born yesterday.

Just so I'm clear on this, computer memory has tripled in price because a bunch of it that hasn't been produced yet has been ordered to populate GPUs that aren't installed in data centers that aren't built yet in order to service a demand that doesn't exist to make profits that don't happen.

Put a basketball hoop and backboard up in the roastery yard. Productivity nether increased nor went down. We have however all gotten better at basketball.

Making the shift from Spotify over to Qobuz was ridiculously easy.
They teamed up with a service that will let you migrate all your playlists, albums, artists and tracks over with the click of a button for free.

Very clever idea.

I see a small city centre comic shop has put up a post apologising for using an AI image. It seems a pretty genuine apology that expresses a lot of regret and the reasons for it. Comments are mostly a pile on from people who'd appear never to have made an error of judgement. Just my opinion obvs.

I like sandwiches. I like gravy. I do not like gravy poured on a sandwich and social media tells me these are now the only available sandwiches in Ireland. Animals.

Pipe bombs not terrorism, holding signs in support of Palestine Action however, is.

Because of external factors, this weekend’s Gist came out on Tuesday.

So if you got a chance to hit repost that would be very helpful.

It’s on Patrick O’Donovan’s plans to implement Meta’s preferred form of ‘regulation’, but also to make it worse.

Big thanks to Kathryn Thomas for inviting me on her radio show this morning. I’d love to see our business model adapted by a really really big business so any opportunity to spread the word on how we’re run is gratefully accepted. #speirgorm

Doing end year numbers and total we'll give this year between the 3% to good causes and 1% to staff on top of salary/bonus will be just shy of €76,000. We're a company of 6 people and whilst this is a drop in the ocean, if a big corporate adopted a similar financial model it'd make a big difference.

Good morning! It is the second Sunday of Advent and in that spirit I would like to up this appeal for 20 children in Nuseirat camp in Gaza to have warm winter pajamas. Many of these children are orphaned and alone. No child should be cold in winter. Donation link in reply to this thread.
