All Airbnbs being rented year round are in contravention of planning laws. Houses built for private residential tenancy need to apply for change of use. If you built a house without following the rules it could be torn down. We could solve this Airbnb problem overnight, there’s no political will.

Bird flu is being painted as a problem wild birds are inflicting on the poultry industry, but it's precisely the reverse.

Where do they think it developed in the first place, if not in the disease incubators that are mass battery farms?

As our Miggeldy leaves office, I hope he takes those restrained presidential gloves off and returns to the gloriously outspoken man he used to be, listen to the fire in his voice in this old interview.

Let the "wankers whipping up fear" beware, he still has a lot to say.

This is an attack on Access to Justice, championed by the “abundance bro’s” and media insiders who peddle government talking points in lieu of actual journalism
The Government's new stated aim is to make it so unattractive for lawyers to take good cases against the State that they will stop. Not bad cases. Good ones. Successful ones. This new rule only applies if you *win* your case. Doesn't that worry anyone slightly?

Make no mistake, this excavation wouldn’t be happening if Catherine Corless hadn’t stuck her neck out and defied people telling her to leave it alone.

But the scale of this is unimaginable. It’s not just M&B homes, it’s laundries, it’s industrial schools, it’s giant psych hospitals.

I've noticed a lot of artists residencies popping up recently, and the prices seem crazy. Niche AirB&Bs.

Can't you just rent an old cottage anywhere and bring your notebooks, or does the name of the cottage have to have arts/residency in the title before you get to add it to your artist bio?

Really REALLY important that everyone who enjoys #SpéirGhorm goes through these settings and toggles the switch to enable 'rude' posts. Tis a rare one of us who doesn't have a colourful tongue.
Wondering why no one likes your posts anymore, even among your friends? It's because @jay.bsky.team and team have decided to hide a huge amount of content from all of our feeds by default.

Here's how to turn it off.

79% of homes sold in Dublin this year were bought by landlords, 75% by large landlords. About 1 in 5 TDs are landlords.

This is disgusting dog whistling. The problem has never been people seeking asylum. The problem is people seeking to endlessly profit from folks just looking for a home.
🗣️ "The one thing that there is a problem with is housing right across the state, and the more that come to seek asylum, the more pressure it puts on that system.” - Fianna Fáil Minister of State Timmy Dooley
