I've been through and covered enough local election cycles here in Chicago/Illinois to have heard "if you tax the rich everyone will move" so much that it's become expected background noise every time it gets brought up. Would be nice if once folks paid attention to what could be.

Reminder that just this year Alds. Ray Lopez and Silvana Tabares introduced an ordinance to rollback protections to once again allow CPD to work with ICE if they claimed it was related to any gang, drug, or prostitution activity. Nine other alders supported it.

so basically what happened was:
ICE / CBP abducted ~1800 people from across the chicago area during june to oct, & did most of it without warrants. of those ~1800 people, only ~750 are still in the us & ~135 aren't eligible for release.

It seems like all of the rich and powerful people around him patronizingly tolerated the race science stuff (“he has such an inquisitive and childlike mind”) in order to get access to his harem of underage sex slaves

Something telling about all these leaks is that Epstein can barely construct an email and, for years and years, the people who made excuses for spending time with Epstein loved to say it was because he was such a brilliant guy.
