Sunday in the Senate. Truly, no clue if this will be another day of speeches, if a new CR is introduced, or if there's a complete cave and HR 5371 gets passed.

Rhetorical pleas against infighting are always begging the question about who's actually on the same side as you.
The sooner we get past internal recriminations and back to fighting united, the better off we all are — the likelier our victory next November.

Just a whole cadre of people unable and unwilling to recognize the time that they're in.
But there are real dangers out there that must be fought; and energy spent fighting each other is energy lost to that bigger fight.

It's Week 7 of Government's Still Closed. The Senate is dipping into their Veteran's Day vacation week to work on fully passing HR 5371 and add a small set of appropriations bills to it via amendment. I've seen some reporting of what's in them, but I'm going to hold off until they are published.

Since the Democrats worked extra hard to hide who actually supported this, I think the No Kings/Resistance position should be to primary every Democrat unless they publicly call for Schumer's ouster this week

Either they go into total rebellion mode, which they won't, or the people will

Just tried to debate with someone that Tim Kaine is less virtuous than the DSA and...honestly, getting blocked is a great sign to log off.

Hugs to everyone on this horrible night and more hugs for the horrible week.

If the rest don’t oust Schumer immediately, then the entire U.S. Senate sold us out. They think we’re stupid. It’s insulting.
These 8 Senators sold us out to Trump:
Hassan
King
Cortez-Masto
Shaheen
Kaine
Fetterman
Durbin
Rosen

Understand This Fact: Chuck Schumer is behind this. None of these 8 are up for reelection in 2026. Schumer asked them vote yes—they agreed. He's such a coward that he folded and won't even own it.

Starting a new thread for the follow-up votes. Just came back to see that the motion to invoke cloture is at 59-40. Then we get into the realm of what amendments get added, if any. If said amendments are appropriations bills, then I don't plan on having a summary for even one of them until tomorrow.

Not that he didn’t already know, but now Trump knows for sure he can roll the Dems every time and there’s no need to negotiate for anything

Good thread on why the vote hasn't closed yet. It will, but Scott, Lee, Johnson, and Cornyn are going to be very annoying about it.
Rick Scott, Mike Lee and Ron Johnson have not voted. They appear to be negotiating something with Thune in the back of the Senate chamber.

We are at 56-40

Also waiting on Cornyn

You literally can’t vote out fascism if the highest elected officials within the so-called opposition are actively working with and openly capitulating. With The fascists for their own gain. Every elected official in both parties has to go at the national level. The government has to be rebuilt.
November 10, 2025 at 2:08 AM
Want to note that this isn't the first time those eight Democratic Senators have voted yea on fascist legislation or nominee. This is why 'vote blue no matter who' is meaningless. If you can't stand up to the fascists in your own party, then you have no chance against the ones in power.

This is intentional, the Dem caucus caved and nominated those 8 to take the fall.
Not a single one of the eight up for reelection this coming cycle. 🤔
THE FOLLOWING DEMOCRATIC SENATORS VOTE “YES” ON THE CONTINUING RESOLUTION IN EXCHANGE FOR NOTHING:

MAGGIE HASSAN (NH)

CATHERINE CORTEZ MASTO (NV)

JEANNE SHAHEEN (NH)

JACKY ROSEN (NV)

DICK DURBIN (IL)

TIM KAINE (VA)

ANGUS KING (ME)

JOHN FETTERMAN (PA)

ITS OVER
November 10, 2025 at 2:06 AM
And with that, the government is on the road to re-opening. Schumer gave up on his one demand and proved he has no control of his own party. About as damning a result as could happen.
And Jacky Rosen is a yea. That's the ballgame (so long as Fetterman votes yea).

If Schumer votes AGAINST this but enough Ds vote FOR it that it passes, he needs to RESIGN immediately.

He will have shown himself to be absolutely ineffective as a minority leader. He has to go.

Literally resign tonight.

If a budget deal goes through without restoring Medicaid & ACA subsidies, they will never be restored.

That's a death sentence for millions of Americans but also to the entire republic and economy: Health care is a for-profit business generating TREMENDOUS economic activity & will grind to a halt.

Following up on this. This remains a ‘cave is minutes or hours away’ situation. If you want to impact how this plays out you need to contact senators literally now. I want to add additional points of context. What I’m relaying is what I’ve picked up from highly reliable sources.
Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.

Truly hoping that people begin to realize the Dems most likely to vote for fascist bills & nominees are the moderates. Kind of hard to blame progressives for ruining things when moderates consistently vote to make things worse.

Truly hope this isn't the deal, but if the final offer is just the promise of a future vote on ACA subsidies (which will fail), then there needs to be an utter uproar against Schumer, the Dem Senators that negotiated this deal, and every Dem that votes yea for it.
