Cool so…there goes another possible upside
Air travelers should expect worsening cancellations and delays this week even as the government shutdown appears to be close to an end, as the Federal Aviation Administration rolls out deeper cuts to flights at 40 major U.S. airports, officials said Monday.
While Trump threatens controllers, US flight cancellations will drag on even after shutdown ends

"So what was the point?

The point is the people who don’t get to give up. The families who cannot afford a single month without coverage. The parents counting on SNAP to feed their kids. The people who live paycheck to paycheck, who get sick, who need care, and who deserve dignity."
I’m sad and I’m furious. The Senate voted to reopen without securing healthcare protections. Millions still stand to lose coverage.

The fight shifts to the House now. There are cracks. Pressure matters. If you’re in a GOP district, call your Rep.

anyway if dems think I'm gonna forget this shit in 5 months, they're wrong. if they think I'm gonna forget it in 5 years, they're wrong. they have fully convinced me that purging the party of these inept losers in the senate is more important than retaking the senate in the next election cycle

The fight tonight was over about $25 billion. Thats about 2.5% of the Defense budget. Would cover a year of the enhanced ACA credits. Republicans said that’s unaffordable.

When I lived in a cultish community, they often used “unity” as a method to silence those who expressed disagreement or who were victimized by the system.

Same dynamic here. One sided “unity.” Unity for me, not for thee.
The sooner we get past internal recriminations and back to fighting united, the better off we all are — the likelier our victory next November.

Senate Dems are out here posting noise like "omg the Senate GOP just voted against healthcare subsidies and are trying to sneak a bunch of terrible shit into the funding bill" — and people are flooding their mentions with "bitch, please, GTFOH"

Never seen such a dramatic swing in political momentum

Progressive groups are calling for Chuck Schumer's ouster after centrist Dems' shutdown cave. Dem senators' phone lines are "exploding" with the same demands. So far, Senate Dems don't have a ton to say.

Two months ago we were paying all federal workers, SNAP benefits were fully funded, and people could afford their health insurance premiums but a small group of Democratic senators have Stockholm Syndrome and are telling us we have to Sophie’s choice one or two of these things.

Called my both of my US Senators to express my opinion that they should demand Schumer and Durbin step down from their leadership positions immediately.

You can do the same by dialing the US Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121. An operator will connect you directly with your Senator's office.

The different between the right and centrists is that the right gleefully kills millions of people and centrists present mass murder as a technical solution, like they added up all the numbers and carried a zero and oops, sorry, millions have to die.

If you need something cuter this morning, the orcas are back and they’re very chatty.

There’s a ferry going through right this second that’s loud af, but after that docks you’ll hear whale calls galore.
The endangered Southern Resident Killer Whales are being very vocal (and adorable) this morning on the Sunset Bay hydrophone, just north of downtown Edmonds:
