You have an occupying army raiding a state, in a manner that the public dislikes

So your job is to get them to lean in to the very thing that makes the public hate them

I’m begging Democratic leaders to understand that outlining and forcefully articulating their vision for accountability now is an electoral strategy.
"The Democrats’ plan: TBD. There has been a lot of rhetoric, but ... the caucus is largely shying away from using its leverage in the appropriations process and threatening another government shutdown."

“We’ll figure out the accountability mechanisms at the appropriate time" - Hakeem Jeffries

You cannot tell voters that this regime is an existential threat one day and aid and abet it every other day. Either you're lying or you are complicit, neither of which makes you fit for office.
7 Democrats just voted today to confirm a Trump judicial nominee who refused to say what happened on January 6 or answer who won the 2020 election:

Durbin
Hassan
Kaine
King
Klobuchar
Shaheen

There's a group of freaks running the country who think the video is exculpatory because it shows the kind of person that they think should be killed, and they're telling all of us that as a kind of insider vice signaling
In case she deletes it — whoah, Katie Miller. Tell us how you really feel

Their objection to the Federal government was based on it supporting equal rights under the law, and taking down local wannabe aristocrats for their crimes.

Now that it is supporting them, they're all for it.

I've seen lots of people sharing this and none of them are from Philly, which should probably give others pause!

(Bilal is wildly, historically corrupt and her office isn't actually responsible for any kind of meaningful law enforcement. She's a cosplay sheriff.)
Powerful. Philadelphia Sheriff Rochelle Bilal threatening to arrest ICE if they fuck with her city. This is the energy we need right now. The police want to be the good guys for once? Protect us from ICE.

i think these absolutely deranged right-wingers have convinced themselves that the average American believes that it's acceptable to publicly execute nice white mothers because they have pronouns in their bios

i also think this is a gross misrreading of actual public opinion
they really do think that "she had PRONOUNS" and "She was A LESBIAN" will cause people to suddenly go "hm yes, it was justified, what a disgusting person she was, she deserved it" don't they

I appreciate this and I've been thinking about it a lot today. Not "Good or Porter were innocent and did not threaten the agents who killed them" but "goons are kidnapping and killing our neighbors and must be stopped."

And Renee Good’s last words appear to be “We’re not mad at you.”
In the video that the shooter took, which I believe was leaked to be exculpatory, he appears to yell “fucking bitch” after he shoots Renee Good.

ICE isn't even a quarter of a century old. Roe was older than that and it got torpedoed *and* that was a former SCOTUS decision. ICE is not. don't be so damp.
Of course, none of this is going to happen. Abolishing ICE is about as likely as fixing the electoral college.

I welcome these guys into the tent but they have to sit in the audience. They don’t get to lead.
Never George Conway. He has his own party, the Republicans. Do not trust his intentions. Please don't fall for this again.
Just a reminder that George Conway is not fundraising right now to run against a MAGA republican.

He is fundraising to run against progressive Democrats.

Important context to "more/better training" arguments: the murder of Renée Good was a product of that training by someone who has trained others.

(I've seen same in civil rights cases; by moving where he did, he was intentionally generating a pretext to shoot her without genuine risk to himself.)
NEW: Jonathan Ross is former National Guard and Border Patrol and has been part of ICE's SWAT equivalent, a team leader overseeing FBI, ATF, and IRS agents, and a firearms instructor, according to testimony obtained by WIRED. This is from @hudsongiles.bsky.social and me:
ICE Agent Who Reportedly Shot Renee Good Was a Firearms Trainer, Per Testimony
Jonathan Ross told a federal court in December about his professional background, including “hundreds” of encounters with drivers during enforcement actions, according to testimony obtained by WIRED.

This was a major initiative from the Biden White House, based in the idea of getting together all the countries with a stake in this crisis. They pressured China to stop precursor chemicals, hit hard at the capital funding for production in Mexico, and funded Narcan in the U.S. It apparently worked.

I've looked it up and while Shaver was on his hands and knees, I'm thinking of a completely different cop murder, of a Black man on his hands and knees, who's told "Move forward" and does so slowly before being shot within a second after moving.

“make big tech afraid” has to be just as much of a priority as “prosecute the criminals of the previous regime” for the next Dem admin

the tech fascists are way too far out over their skis and what remains of global stability will not survive that state of affairs continuing
As many have pointed out, there's no reason for big tech to change its behavior because they correctly understand that they have nothing to fear from Democrats taking power

New: Trio of Dem senators urge Apple and Google to enforce their own terms of service and ban X, Grok apps for their flood of nonconsensual sexual imagery.

I've repeatedly asked both Apple and Google about this for three days. They're completely silent, seemingly hoping the question just goes away.
Senators urged Apple and Google to remove X and Grok from app stores over sexual deepfakes
“Turning a blind eye to X’s egregious behavior would make a mockery of your moderation practices,” three Democratic senators wrote to Apple’s and Google’s CEOs.
