i was actually shocked to see the numbers on new research from Global Energy Monitor on new gas projects in the US: nearly 100 gigawatts of power—enough to power tens of millions of homes—are currently in development explicitly to power data centers. At the end of 2023 that number was 4 gigawatts
Data Centers Are Driving a US Gas Boom
Gas projects in the US pipeline explicitly linked to data centers increased by almost 25 times over the past two years, according to new research from Global Energy Monitor.

The AI-chat-enabled stuffed toy Bondu invites little kids to have intimate conversations with it, like an LLM imaginary friend. It also exposed virtually all their chats on a web interface with no security. Anyone with a Gmail account could log in and read transcripts. www.wired.com/story/an-ai-...
An AI Toy Exposed 50,000 Logs of Its Chats With Kids to Anyone With a Gmail Account
AI chat toy company Bondu left its web console almost entirely unprotected. Researchers who accessed it found nearly all the conversations children had had with the company's stuffed animals.

We are doing this discourse again I see lol. I guess it’s an annual thing. Last time he was telling people to use Telegram.
Elon Musk has joined the ranks of Very Important Men claiming that Signal is insecure…and advising people to use his Xchat service instead.

Even Grok agreed that using Xchat is a bad idea.

New from me: Last month I asked HHS about South Carolina's measles outbreak. They brushed me off, saying they weren't "concerned that this will develop into a large, long-running outbreak."

A month later, it's the biggest since measles was declared eliminated. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...
HHS wasn't worried about South Carolina's measles outbreak. It's now enormous.
“CDC is not currently concerned that this will develop into a large, long-running outbreak," the agency said in December.

Some news I broke last night. Just a little scoop and a quick blog:
There are serious concerns in the WH on the likelihood of a Kristi Noem impeachment. She's seen internally as the instigator in a fight against Stephen Miller. Well, not just her, but also Corey Lewandowski — "K&C," as they're referred to. straightfromthehut.substack.com/p/the-stephe...
The Stephen Miller v. Kristi Noem Fight Is On
Trumpworld now sees Noem as "under a real impeachment threat," and a standoff is underway with the 'Prime Minister.'

Talk about turning the temperature down..

Also, the exchange afterward is very emblematic of convos I’ve had with candidates/lawmakers & staff about safety. You don’t want to let the lunatics win, but at some point you have to alter behavior & procedures for your own safety.

With enough public encouragement, I might be inclined to blog the following:

The Trump campaign’s decision to not jettison Corey Lewandowski into the sun may have been a fatal mistake, and it makes getting rid of Noem vs. Stephen Miller much more complicated.

The administration that spent the first half of 2025 telling us there was nothing wrong with coordinating literally classified war plans on Signal now is saying that it believes it’s a crime to post publicly available information on Signal.
I would like to know how my prior colleagues, who have chosen to pursue leadership positions under this charlatan, justify ordering agents to break their oaths of office and open investigations on people simply for exercising their legal rights.

Good luck gazing in the mirror when this is all over.

Ouch. I’ve dealt with Tricia going back to her days on the Vivek campaign, and this is not what she normally sounds like. She sounds nervous.

Her initial statement on the Renee Good killing is also something she has not been held accountable for, but I don’t think she expected this to happen on Fox
