Something I see a lot of folks missing in discussions about what's happening Venezuela, particularly around oil, is the role U.S. oil majors' interest in Guyana—and the threat Venezuela posed to it—has in all of it. Explainer here: drilled.media/news/guyana-...
The U.S.-Venezuela-Guyana Oil Triangle
The U.S. interest in Venezuela isn’t just about the oil there, but also about the oil next door in Guyana, and the U.S. oil companies that have staked their future on it.

It’s been very striking to see mainstream news coverage of Venezuela. The not-so-subtle framing is: this wasn’t a bad idea. The sourcing is: a random assortment of people in the U.S. who don’t have to deal with the ramifications of Trump’s strike on Venezuela.

"In Boston, some Venezuelans celebrated Maduro’s capture, but wariness about what might follow his removal is keeping their enthusiasm in check. By contrast, Democratic lawmakers took to social media decrying the attack as unconstitutional and reckless." www.bostonglobe.com/2026/01/03/m...

Public design is too important a generational project for the left to cede to neoliberal technocrats.

moneyontheleft.org/2025/12/29/t...

This is as good as a time to spread the word about substance of policy Frameworks that are being developed by some very smart people. Many neoliberal policy wonks promoted the myth that they had a monopoly on policy expertise.Policy design is too important to be left to modelers on corporate rolls.

Isn't it odd that the United States has enough money to suddenly run Venezuela, but not enough to run our own country?

There is always cash in the piggy bank for bombs to kill people, but never for healthcare to keep them alive.
1. Look, there are basically just two ways to run the global oil market: petro-imperialism and petro-consumerism. Historically USA has embraced both, varying over time. The attack on #Venezuela is a return to naked petro-imperialism. Thread.
Members of Congress: stop posting online and APPEAR, PHYSICALLY on the steps of the Capitol to decry this unconstitutional violation of domestic & international law. SHOW THE PEOPLE the level of danger we are facing as a country.

Okay, thanks for clarifying. Will share this with the National Community of Practice on Right to Food.

Is the statement about comparison with Great Recession from this report, or from another source?

Good! 10k to follow, with stoves that have batteries.

With batteries on an induction stove, there’s no need for the building to upgrade the electrical. Bye, dirty gas, asthma and other health issues from the pollution.
