Kash Patel was angry about his publicly-available jet logs indicating he’d flown to see his musician girlfriend perform so he forced out a senior FBI official overseeing aviation, Bloomberg reports

The FBI forced out a senior official overseeing aviation shortly after Director Kash Patel grew outraged about revelations of his publicly-available jet logs indicating he’d flown to see his musician girlfriend perform, said three people familiar with the situation. Steven Palmer, a 27-year veteran of the FBI, became the third head of the critical incident response group—which includes FBI pilots—to be fired or removed in Patel’s short regime, adding to a year filled with retributive terminations.

The entire HR department at the CDC is gone. Everyone at the IRB, which makes sure studies are conducted ethically and rigorously, and the ethics office, which oversee conflicts of interest for CDC leaders and advisory committee members, were also let go.

The more Trump acts, the more unpopular he becomes. Political leaders w the power to stop his unlawful actions should do what’s right no matter what, but maybe this info will embolden them to act in the public’s interest.

The Dept. of Education is planning to propose, as early as this month, a new regulation that would streamline its ability to pull federal funding from colleges found to be in violation of civil rights laws.

This change would be alarming enough by itself, but paired with ACTS it's a real emergency.

But The Post talked to people who are struggling to get the vaccine. Elaine Cox, a 68-year-old with lung disease, said she wept after being denied a prescription.
In a combative appearance before the Senate Finance Committee on Thursday, Kennedy bristled when Sen. Maggie Hassan (D-New Hampshire) accused the Trump administration of taking steps that deny people vaccines. "Everybody can get the vaccine. You're just making things up," Kennedy said. "You're making things up to scare people, and it's a lie." In Virginia, Elaine Cox said she and her husband asked their doctor for a prescription before leaving Saturday for a vacation in Italy. The office declined because it hadn't received CDC guidance. Cox, 68, suffers from chronic lung disease, and her nephew died of the viral infection in 2022. "I was crying this afternoon about this," she said on Thursday. "My family takes [covid] very seriously."
