Ok, so I typed down some definitional thoughts on what makes an Influencer Intellectual so unique. I consider this my academic contribution of the year, thank you.

lol. We’re doomed and hinging on a series of catastrophic strokes among uberelderly senators
MoveOn, Indivisible, Our Revolution, and 6 Democrats have called on Chuck Schumer to step aside as leader.
So we asked all 40 Democratic senators who didn’t cave to Republicans if they still think Schumer is the right leader.
Here's what they said.

Furious Liberals Call for Schumer to Step Aside, Senate Dems Mostly Quiet
After their shutdown surrender, liberal lawmakers are begging their base to unite behind them anyway – as Trumpland celebrates that their opposition is a bunch of 'p*ssies.'

Sir. I’m not sure you live in the same planet as the rest of us but taking a stand against and not giving an inch to the republicans was “fighting”. Unless you are referring to taking actual arms in hand—which, I am sure, you are way too cowardly to do—I’d kindly ask you to shut the fuck up.
1. We need to fight hard for a good ACA extension early in December and hold Republicans fiercely accountable if they betray everyone.

Could it be that the reason we can’t find intelligent life is that all alien civilizations had the equivalent of the Democrats who decided to do jack shit to avoid the collapse of their societies?

It’s almost like they aren’t all about shoving financialized products like branded credit cards, medallion qualifying dollars, or “buy more and get a 0.5% discount” schemes. It’s almost like they actually are about… selling stuff.
that's in part because costco feels so old fashioned. the approach generally seems to be, "will this provide additional value to our customers?"

Just imagining the media on Earth 2 on a day when President Harris's aides are fighting to withhold food stamps and raise healthcare prices for tens of millions of Americans while she hosts a former affiliate of al-Qaeda and ISIS in the Oval Office

American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.

Imagine being so incompetent as a politician that you throw away an opportunity on a silver platter, like a holiday season of discontent, because of god knows what reason.
I received this email about Democrats caving to end the shutdown from one of the SNAP recipients I spoke to:

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. As long as the Democrats are what they are, it doesn’t matter if AOC, Madmani, and all the progressives of the universe move thousands of voters on the ground; the engines of the machine are driven by operatives that will sink progressive down with them.
The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.
The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.
People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.
And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

Every Democratic Senator who is even pondering breaking line should hopefully have property in a country with which the US has no extradition treaty because this is, essentially, treason.

So the plan is just never fund the government again until 2029?

"Sens. Jacky Rosen (Nev.), Tammy Baldwin (Wis.), Mark Kelly (Ariz.),Jon Ossoff (Ga.), Gary Peters (Mich.) &Dick Durbin (Ill.) were among the Democrats who participated in secretive negotiations to end the shutdown & are considered possible “yes” votes for the deal."
