This is not true. Filing cabinets were part of surveillance. Analysts reading and making sense of transcripts from hidden microphones were part of surveillance.

Just because nation-states have normalized it doesn’t mean we can’t challenge it.
Increasingly, one has to be seen as a “native” of the “nation” (doubling the fictitious categories)
One is “native” through “genealogy,” a fancy (and deceptive) way of talking about “blood,” ie racism
