You look like a group that would be interested in hearing about all 446 of Pittsburgh's bridges.

Well you're in luck

occurs to me that data centers are a new oil rush - going all out to buy up land, put something toxic on it that extracts a lot from an area, provides a few well-paying jobs, enriches a land owner and a huge corporation, then leaves the localities with the cleanup and the planet more on fire

I cannot understate how dissapointed I have been in all other styles of tamales. Unfair to be born into the best style of them and discover all the other varieties, which would be amazing and delicious were it not for the unfair comparisons
Gotta be either the peculiar red hot Mississippi style of tamales, served with chili and cheese on top for the slop factor

every author in the class action, please file the claim.
AI advocates have warned that if every author in the class action filed a claim, it would "financially ruin" the entire industry.
Authors celebrate “historic” settlement coming soon in Anthropic class action
Advocates fear such settlements will “financially ruin” the AI industry.

Bokeem Woodbine’s Soren-006 is a perfect example of a character who’s the lead of his own show inside somebody else’s. A runaway genetically-maimed super soldier turned pirate king with a wife and a kid and a heart of gold. I’d read a dozen books about this guy.

We should reboot journalism completely. Start from scratch. They should get those old timey hats and a pencil and figure it out from there

My reaction to watching Twin Peaks over the years:
1995: Girls. Wow. Okay. Did not think about THAT but...
2005: Time to get into Gnostic esotericism, baby!
2015: I'm gonna get rid of my concept of the self.
2025: I'm gonna make so many fucking pies.

Not gonna bother listening to that because it didn't take any effort to create. There's no shortage of talented musicians online that are actually applying their skills to do this sort of thing and are so much more impressive.

This guy usually does metal covers but this is his wild take on it.

One of the root causes of complex PTSD is experiencing a horrible series of events over time and not having anyone validate it, or indeed deny it was important. It’s almost impossible to integrate a traumatic experience without your social groups accepting that it occurred and that it mattered.
sometimes it will just hit me that over a million americans died from covid in a short period of time and we never had a national mourning. we never collectively grieved. we never honored the dead. this feels like a failure

By refusing to actually let this country/much of the world actually process the grief and the horror and the sadness, and indeed encouraging them not to believe their lying eyes that it was a tragic and traumatic experience, our society is setting a future time bomb.
