Let’s be clear: this is class warfare.
Tens of thousands of working-class Americans are going to die because of this “deal.”
Real people. Real deaths. For another tax break for the rich.
Those who voted for it — Republicans and Democrats — are on the side the 1%, fighting against the rest of us.

This deal to reopen the government is fucking disgraceful.
Tens of millions will lose their healthcare. Trump will be emboldened.
This is exactly what’s wrong with Democratic Party leadership and why we need more people in Congress who will actually hold the line.

The frequency with which I lie to my dog is probably unacceptable.
Tonight: "I'm sorry, buddy, we aren't going outside right now. Outside actually doesn't exist anymore. There is no more outside that exists."

We’ve now taken the lead by 91 votes! 🤯 This thing is certainly not over! Over 1,000 ballots have been challenged, so if you haven’t tracked your ballot yet get on it! Our trusty volunteers have been working hard to "cure" ballots so they count! We're so close!

Sure I dunk on smaller accounts all the time and dive into queer or racial discourse all the time despite being a cishet white man and sure I go on misogynistic rants all the time about popular women online with opinions I disagree with, but have you considered I’m just a smol birthday boy? C’monnnn

If you still have a Washington Post subscription, cancel it.
Update: In 3 recent editorials, WaPo failed to disclose owner Jeff Bezos's interest in the matter under discussion.
WaPo added one disclosure after @bgrueskin.bsky.social called it out.
Two weeks after my story, the other two editorials still have none. And the paper still won't say why

'Washington Post' editorials omit a key disclosure: Bezos' financial ties
Three times in the past two weeks, editorials at the 'Washington Post' failed to disclose that they focused on matters in which owner Jeff Bezos had a material interest.

"We’re done waiting for Dems to find their spine. We can’t afford a weak & cowardly Democratic Party while the authoritarians invade our cities, terrorize our communities, & threaten our democracy. We get the party we demand, & we intend to demand a Democratic Party that fights.” — @indivisible.org

Just remember as you see all these politicians rushing to say "Bernie was right, we should be like Bernie" that a few weeks ago, Bernie was praising Trump on immigration. Oh, and Bernie voted to confirm Marco Rubio.

The best part is that it’s an ad for Blinkist, which sells you brief summaries of the key points in nonfiction books. He can’t even pretend to enjoy reading for reading’s sake.

Not to be emotional on main, but those of y’all over 40 (especially y’all over 55) accepting and loving y’all’s kids for being queer, trans, autistic, disabled, etc always makes me so emotional in a good way
Like not to praise people for the bare minimum, but I cherish these types of parents deeply

We’ll overcome this together. For all the bad in the world, there are communities of people helping out their neighbors. Folks working at food pantries. People working tirelessly to advocate for those being kidnapped off the streets by ICE. Folks running mutual aids. I see y’all.
