Trump administration slashes number of diseases U.S. children will be regularly vaccinated against
Insurance companies will still be required to fully cover all childhood vaccines on the CDC schedule, including those now designated as optional.

#Podcasting is the only thing that gave us Bhattacharya and Vinay Prasad. If it never existed, they would have been anonymous faculty nobody knew about instead of ruining millions of lives. And this is why I'll always and forever loathe podcasting.

Surprising nobody with a memory of the past 25 years, the Democrats did not come together to condemn the latest blatantly illegal military atrocity carried out in pursuit of oil.

why are random Bluesky accounts asking better questions about this than everyone whose full time salaried job is to report on technology companies?
Serious q. Does this violate the terms with Apple’s App Store? Like are apps that offer/enable content that sexualizes women and children A-Ok to Apple?

Feel like it shld be front page, 34-sized font headline news that the person who gave ~$250 million to Trump campaign and then was co-president for a few months, dismantling agencies and stealing Americans' data, built an AI tool that is being used for child porn.

This Sept. piece is instructive

It will take some time (a few years), but this change will lead to hundreds of thousands of preventable diseases in the most vulnerable parts of the population, including deaths.

I assume we'll follow this up with the introduction of universal healthcare and paid family/sick/parental leave?

I am haunted by the ghosts of Iraq and Afghanistan. Those military operations initially went flawlessly but the problem was in trillions of $ spent, thousands of American lives, decades of lost opportunity. Americans have zero appetite for more nation building, endless quagmires.

This'll create a lot of dead children. That's probably the point, not a side effect. The core MAHA belief behind this is simple eugenics: vaccines are bad because they allow the weak to survive.
The CDC changed the universal vaccine schedule & no longer recommends

Rotavirus
Hepatitis A & B
Meningitis
Influenza
RSV

I’ve cared for previously healthy kids who died from RSV, influenza and meningitis.

We all are going to be caring for a lot more now.

Phew, good thing Mitch McConnell was also completely powerless and ineffectual as Senate Minority Leader. Imagine all the things he could’ve gotten up to!
A lot of people are mad at Schumer for saying this. But he's right. Democrats don't control a single branch of government and they can't pass anything. Only Republicans can rein in Trump because they control both chambers of Congress. Democrats have no cards to play here.
Schumer: "Republicans must -- if there was ever a time, they must step up to the plate. This is the time. And if they don't, they're gonna feel the heat from their constituents."

We don't have the disability education infrastructure to support a growing number of kids who are going to be disabled because their parents didn't get them vaccines against illnesses that can lead to the development of disabilities.

Riley Gaines thinks her child matters more than other children, to the point that she thinks a pediatrician refusing elective care for her unvaccinated child (which would expose the other children in the practice to unnecessary risk) is a violation of the Hippocratic Oath.
