Almost half a billion people w/ Long Covid around the world w/ around half of them meeting criteria for ME. I’m sure it’s fine that only 33 doctors in the UK have learned anything about managing the life-threatening severe end of this horrific disease. It’s totally not going to get anyone killed /s
Out of over half a million healthcare providers in the UK, thirty-three have viewed the module on managing severe ME that was touted as the solution to the ME crisis. This leads to people like Savannah currently being detained and tortured in NHS hospitals
5/n

Today, I received their answer. This is the data table they sent me, of the number of people who have completed each of the 3 modules up to 20 January 2026:

The hostile immigration system is a disability justice issue.
By late Friday afternoon, the Department of Homeland Security put out a statement saying authorities had received Abreu-Vasquez's medications and that ICE would work to ensure he received them.

But on Sunday afternoon, his wife told MPR News that he still hadn't received the life-saving medication.

The wife of a kidney transplant recipient tells MPR News that four days after his arrest, the man still has not received the medications he needs to keep his body from rejecting the kidney.

Sundance, Valentine’s Day, the Oscars, my 1st AND 2nd “Covid destroyed my life” anniversaries… they all mysteriously show up around the same time to wreck my mental health. As if winter isn’t hard enough already?? The Super Bowl gets a pass for being one thing I’m never in any danger of caring about
It’s so interesting how the Super Bowl happens at seemingly random intervals and I never have advance warning

This Super Bowl Sunday, I’d like to introduce you all to the magical curse bowls used in Upper Mesopotamia and Syria in late antiquity. Written in Mandaic (as here) or Syriac Aramaic, they trap demons who trespass on a household by sucking them in with spiraling spells to the center of the bowl.

Not a single thing we were told about #COVID turned out to be correct. A long thread 🧵

putting this here. Who’s bringing food to people with long covid who are too weak to cook or are you just condemning them for ordering delivery? Are you masking up to visit friends or making them sicker or just abandoning them? There is a precedence for community care in the face of gov abandonment!
For someone who brought meals to AIDS shut-ins who'd been erased by society, and who lost many friends in the 90's, this is simply astounding.

In a moral & ethical society, it would be free for anyone who wants it. We're the only industrialized nation without single payer/nationalized health care.

Go submit your testimony to the House right now! And again (or if you miss today’s House deadline) to the Senate on Tuesday! You don’t need to live in Maryland—the idea is to show this is a global problem/global market. Here’s how to submit:

Slowly making my way through the various climate mentions in the #epsteinfiles. It's a pretty interesting/disturbing window into the tech-finance-power broker universe of climate skepticism. Exhibit A:

You wouldn’t think the world’s biggest sex trafficking scandal would have much to do with climate but the word shows up in more than 1500 of the #epsteinfiles. At first we thought meh, we don’t want to exploit a scandal, then we started reading and realized the Epstein universe’s take on climate intersects with a LOT of the stuff we’re investigating all the time. So we’re slowly making our way through. Take this 2014 email recommending a climate denier’s screed in the Wall Street Journal. Seems like a nothing burger at first… but it’s written by massive geoengineering proponent (and Gates Foundation consultant) Lowell Wood, and seconded by Nathan Myhrvold, Microsoft’s Chief Technology Officer at a time when Microsoft was talking a lot about climate while quietly getting into business with oil companies and developing AI that would help both produce and consume more energy.

Hi all!

There will be two windows to share your story in the form of written testimony to support the Maryland Long Covid Innovation bill. The first is:

This Friday 2/6 from 8am-3pm

To make it easier, @viralpersistence.bsky.social and I have written up a how-to: docs.google.com/document/d/1...
Long Covid friends—

A bill in the Maryland legislature would create an R&D fund for LC—a big deal when new federal funding is stalled.

The advocate behind the bill is asking for people anywhere to submit written testimony on Fri 2/6 on your experience w/LC, to say why this is needed!
