Hi all!

There will be two windows to share your story in the form of written testimony to support the Maryland Long Covid Innovation bill. The first is:

This Friday 2/6 from 8am-3pm

To make it easier, @viralpersistence.bsky.social and I have written up a how-to: docs.google.com/document/d/1...
Long Covid friends—

A bill in the Maryland legislature would create an R&D fund for LC—a big deal when new federal funding is stalled.

The advocate behind the bill is asking for people anywhere to submit written testimony on Fri 2/6 on your experience w/LC, to say why this is needed!

The clock is ticking. The NIH now has 180 days to develop an implementation plan for the ME/CFS Research Roadmap. In 6 months, we SHOULD have a plan to implement the NIH’s roadmap for biomarkers, treatments & clinical trials.

#MEAction partnered with #NotJustFatigue to secure this support.

Will say almost everyone who called was lovely & polite though, including these two. Took some heat for the federal government supporting fracking/natural gas (which, CORRECT) & a few men going after my age, but mostly good vibes from the public!

Also worked a hotline for the National Renewable Energy Lab & had to convince a man he probably shouldn’t set sail for Hawaii on a homemade solar-powered raft with his dog

I once worked an EPA hotline for recycling & found myself counseling a woman on a very contentious-sounding breakup featuring stolen trash bins
there are two kinds of people: those who have worked intake for legal organizations, and those who have not.

you really don’t know how insane the general public is until you‘ve done that.
there are in fact extremely graphic allegations against Thomas in the files BUT they’re contained within an extremely weird, rambling email that does not seem reliable

Hey everyone!

Huge news! Our trans girl scout list has sold a total of 146,000 boxes as of today!

But MANY trans girl scouts only have 20, 30, 40 boxes sold.

I just resorted our list to put those on the top.

Go get your girl scout cookies and make a trans kid's day!

I currently have two extremely ill friends I’m worried may not be with us anymore because they went through medical crises & then stopped responding. On top of the illness, the loss of our lives, the abandonment, we have to carry this sort of life & death trauma while the world looks away.

Shared this on insta & will share here too. If you’re not in the ME or Long Covid communities you’re likely unaware of just how often we have to watch young people die.
